Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Ham Fighters’ Toru Murata will join the team’s scouting department from next season.

Toru Murata pitcher, formerly of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and playing in the Czech League this season, has announced his retirement and will join the Scouting Department of the Team Supervisory Headquarters of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham from next season.

▼Mr. Murata commented.
I am very excited to start my new job. I am looking forward to working with baseball in a different way than I have in the past, and at the same time I am a little anxious. I am very happy to be able to do baseball until I am 40 years old, as I was fired after 3 years of being a professional. I was blessed with the people I met, and I think I was able to make it this far because of the help of the people around me. I am grateful to my family and friends for their support, to my fans, and to all the people involved. From now on, I would like to give back to the baseball world the knowledge and experience I have gained so far.”
