Hakuba’s UNREAL POWDER Heaven

Started off my week on a losing streak. I was in a little trouble, but it wasn’t that. Happy new year everybody. Wasn’t going to vlog today, but we just had our first run here in Hakuba Cortina. And yeah, that’s one way to start the new year. I’ll take you along on a little bit of tree skiing. Me and Wolfie got to get some of that pow powet size of the night. I’m dreaming. I’m falling from the ceiling. I wonder I’m taking I for just me. You don’t get You don’t get all that. You don’t get Oh, thank you. Thank you. Nice place. He only was thirsty. Thank you. Thank you. So, getting into that zone is pretty straightforward. You take two chair lifts up and then just go to the backount gate and pretty much no matter where you ski, you’ll end up in the gully. Then you just ski out and then it’s important to always stay left otherwise you’ll end up in the next resort which can be bad especially if you buy only the Cortina ticket and not the Hakuba Valley pass. And then when you come out at the bottom there are like three shelves next to each other. So just go to the far one and that’ll take you over back into Cortina and then you go up again and then you do the same again. That’s the rule. You and me together on the open road. Dropped off the ceiling. Need to wait for summer time. Anywhere with you is like paradise. Feel the sun rays running through our veins. Yes. Blues from the miles away. Crank up the tunes on the stereo. Sending good vibes to Tokyo. Let’s roll. There’s no time to wait. Let’s go. Yeah, we’re on our way. So, here’s to the good times. Short but sweet. All we need is a little bit of sunshine and some to feel all right. Used to the good times. Hey, stop. And if you don’t want to do the gates, there’s plenty just here within the main resort. I think we’re going to check out this area over there on the next run. Looks pretty nice. stat bus. Hi. Heat. We are some Japanese bush. Switching it up for one run. Snow is getting pretty heavy though. Sun is really strong today. It’s the problem with those bluebird pow days. Kind of done by lunch, but I’m getting a bit hungry. Anyways, lunch time. I think English. One, two, three. Hi. Green bite. Everybody like the cheesecake. M. Hi. Thank you. That was a cool lunch. Where are my skis? Hello. Hakuba cortina just like the Italian one. Spaghetti capuccino and maybe a little bit more snow. So, thanks for watching. Until next time.

  1. Cortina was my favorite Italian resort in Japan. Cortina. 😂 I got the best pow run on that steep long groomer up to the right looking up. Everyone blasted left for tree runs, I got first tracks 2’ of pow on a wide open steep groomer. Did that 3 times before it got tracked, then went left into the trees and found freshies for days. It stays fresh in the trees for a few days sometimes over there. Only downside is, no good food options. That outside Aussie coffee place sells an Aussie style sando if you like a sando that all bread and no meat. The espresso sucked too, sadly. Inside the hotel they only had like make your own pizza. The gift shop at the back of the lobby had best options honestly, but that’s not saying much for such a nice big hotel. But it’s definitely the best mountain in Hakuba…that or the back bowls at Iwatake I on a good pow day. Happo is bomb holed by skiers by 8:30am on anything steep, the mogul the F out of all the good steep runs and basically make the good shit undesirable. It’s a shame, cause I think Happo has most vert too.

  2. Really enjoyed this episode while getting some useful information. Will be there in a few weeks and can’t wait.

  3. Trying to figure out what skis to buy for Japow 2026. I'm only 65kg and a believer in the idea that your weight defines the ski width you need for sufficient float.
I see you're on Bent Chetlers 120mm – how much do you weigh? And what ski width would you recommend for a smaller guy?

  4. I will nick some music from this video… but when I do some polite bowing it is okay, right?

  5. No one ever pays attention to the signs and people going through without avalanche equipment just encourages others to. No wonder hakuba has multiple deaths every year through those backcountry gates. Not great.

  6. Hidden is a bit of a stretch for any of the hakuba resorts, but it is really fun

  7. Damn, I wish I could ski the trees like you do! Another great video many thanks.

  8. Even though I’m watching this on the bus I can feel my legs floating.
In two months time I’m there, can’t wait.

  9. Hey! I was wondering if you have ever been to Zao? Or have a video on it? I am planning a trip next winter and thinking about checking it out.

  10. Looks cool! We'll be there (Nagano-ish) late Jan '26…intended going back around Akakura-Lake Nojiri but maybe Hakuba is worth a try too?!
