MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan – Call this the season of “next man up.”
With so many stars from last year either transferred or graduated, new players have ventured to Japan from other locales or have moved up from junior varsity to take their place. And some have already made a mark.
Take Mikaela Ramon, for example. The transfer plane brought the Zama sophomore shooting guard in from American Overseas School of Rome. She wasted no time bringing a shooting touch to the basketball court – 57 points in the Trojans’ first two wins at Robert D. Edgren.
