Did you know the flame in Hiroshima’s peace park spark, the one that will stay lit until the world’s last nuclear weapon is gone, actually came from another eternal flame on Miaima Island? We nearly missed it, but it’s been burning for over,200 years inside Ricardo Hall on Mount Nen, linking ancient tradition with the modern quest for peace.

I had no idea the origin of the Hiroshima Peace Park’s eternal flame, were from a 1200 year old eternal flame just across the water on Miyajima island. So cool how it links them together 🥹⛩️
