5 days in Tokyo, Japan! ๐ฏ๐ต Tokyo’s best shopping, cafes, and food spots (Tokyo travel vlog)
Oh my god. The door is on the right side of the Tokyo Hotel room tour. Fulllength mirror. Tiny bedroom with Japanese pajamas. A little fridge, which is amazing. Tea station with complimentary tea. Lounger with a table for working or eating. One of our favorite parts of bathrooms in Japan, the shower, the toilet with the bedet, huge mirror here, and that’s really it. It’s pretty tiny, but uh we won’t be spending much time here, so it works for us. Good job. Welcome to Thank you so much. I don’t think I know this. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. I a little bigger. M. It’s so good. The matcha is like really light and refreshing, but the vanilla adds a really nice like creamy mix. The mix is really good. Turn off. I love it. I go I want to do heat. What are you doing? It’s great. Okay, it’s almost 2:00 p.m. and it’s getting really busy down here now. So, we’re going to try and find somewhere a little bit quieter. We’re going with the tea bum kuchen and the white tayyaki with custard. It’s almost like a crepe but more of a chew. And the inside’s this beautiful smooth custard. And the temperature is cold, so it’s very, very refreshing. The tea flavor is really nice and delicate. It’s actually really flavorful. I like it a lot. It go with like a coffee or something like that, which that’s where we’re headed right now. close to Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Don’t need the water. So cute. Heat. Heat. All right. Here we go. Off to find somewhere else. You don’t know what that Wow. I don’t This is Okay. It’s a rainy day here in Tokyo, So, we’re heading to Shinjuku Station where most things hopefully will be underground for us today. Lunch time. Ash comes. Yeah. One more. So, Linda is looking for something somewhere in here. Look at all these different things in this department store. I already got a matcha, but it has a little bit of sugar added to it. I want just pure matcha. And apparently the Takashi Maya department store is the spot to get one of the really good ones. So B1 says food. So we’ll try that. No luck yet. charge. Okay. Yeah. With everything. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So, they have the bowl and the thing, but they don’t have the whole set. And matcha is sold out for today. That’s what the sign said. Crazy. Yeah. What have you been eating? Buttons for eyes, button for button. Oh we can’t eat it. So, this was one of the most affordable ones. Actually, I had it in my hand, but I was like, if it’s one of the most affordable ones, how can it be good? We turn the corner and John finds that this is actually a staff pick. And so I’m going to get it. That’s three. Yeah, a little bit. Cool. Okay. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Marshmallow. officially rush hour. Is that This is cool and it’s all these lights are so vibrant that it’s actually there’s heat coming off of it. Heat. Heat. Let’s put it. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Okay, we’ve arrived in Akihabara and it’s so lively here. Look at the lights behind me. It is freezing cold here. So, we have put our jackets on and so what better time than right now when we’re this cold for some piping hot ramen. Look at the size of this bowl. What’s up? You know, Heat. Heat. Wow. A lot. It’s a lot down here. I don’t need Okay, another one. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. We’re very excited. It’s got a raw egg on top. It’s got some nori, some green onions, some bonito flakes, and it looks beautiful. So, they also have tons of toppings here that you can add into your dish. They have onions. They have garlic. They have chili oil, vinegar, pepper, curry powder. They also give you wasabi. I’m ecstatic. So, I’m going to start with without anything, just as it comes. The texture is absolutely perfect. The noodles are chewing but soft. Really delicious. You could eat it just like this. Comforting, light. I’m definitely going to be adding some more stuffing, especially the wasabi to just thick it up a notch. Okay. And I got an extra side portion of the pork here just to give it that classic ramen feel. Even though this is nothing like any ramen I’ve ever had. I have a feeling today is going to be the day we find our gacha. I want any of these are fine, but I do agree. I think this is top choice, but this is really good, too. This is the only one I don’t want. And I think that’s what’s going to happen. It looks yellow. Oh my gosh. And look how cute. Oh no. I want more. Officially addicted. Officially addicted. I mean, I can see how you can get addicted, but we’ll probably stop here. Really? Yeah. Oh, cool. Shut up. Okay. He’s cooler than I thought. Heat. Heat. Fire. Hey. Hey. Hey, hey, hey. worth it. I don’t know. Three-step nose pack. You can get soybeans out of your nose. Wow. So, I saw this and I was like, is that a finger in its mouth? And they’re samples. And it is absolutely biting my finger in its mouth. A sweet bite of good animals. Please experience it. Yeah. Heat. Jack Stop. Stop. I’m not even in the door and I already see something I want to buy. This is going to be a problem. So, there’s eight floors of shopping to be done. Let’s go. Okay, so we’re going to the third floor, but it’s a long wait for the elevator. So, we’re going to get our steps in today. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. So, you always want to look for the crown or where it says number one. That means it’s one of the most popular items in Japan. So, this one’s a really popular one right now, but um it’s got a little bit of a mixed review, so I’m not going to get this. But if you’ve gotten this, let me know how you like it and if I should get it next time. So, sunscreen in Japan is incredible, and it’s almost like half the price of what it would be in Canada where we’re from. So, we’re going to get some sunscreen cuz we’re out in the sun a lot and we’re not getting any younger. $6.95 yen for one or 19.80 for three. Same size, same product. Definitely a better deal. We went to a pharmacy yesterday. This was 962 yen there before tax. It’s 8.80 here. These were individually 8.80 is $6.95 here. So definitely sunscreen is a better price. One really cool thing here is you can get these little trial packs for 100 yen. So you can try the shampoo and conditioner to see if you like it, if it suits you before you commit to a larger size. So it’s like a little sample size. That’s so smart. Okay, so we’re done with hair care, skin care, and all that. Now it’s time for snacks. Let’s go. So this looks absolutely delicious. It’s every form of octopus that you can imagine, but it’s 2,000 yen. And I don’t know that I’m prepared for that. Oh my gosh. Don’t miss the basement floor. That’s where all the groceries are. And there’s so many things that I’m already so excited to try and buy. Forget the snacks upstairs. Come downstairs. We love these cheeses. We had it last time we were in Tokyo. And there’s so many more flavors here than I’ve ever seen. Like this Earl Grey Peach. Definitely coming home with me. Thank you so much. Okay, I’m happy. Okay, so that was an amazing experience. We spent about 3 hours here. actually a lot longer than we anticipated, but we finished at 2:45 and there was like no line. So, come before 300 p.m. and get your haul. We got everything we wanted and then some. Let’s get John some shoes. Success. Yay. Hallelujah. I couldn’t finish the bag. Hello. Turn. You don’t know. Yeah. Look at it. Come on. Okay. Hey, young. Can you close? Feels like it’s a feeling. Chicken. Can you give me Oh, you I Oh my god. I thought it was a face mask, but turns out it’s a cute keychain. Take it. Okay. Okay. Heat. Heat. Hey. Hey. Hey. Heat. Heat. Come on. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. Um, we had plans for two different coffee places today. One matcha, one coffee for me. It is 3:40 p.m. 3:44 now. And we just realized they both close at 4 pm. We are prioritizing the matcha right now because we can get coffee anywhere. So, and the coffee lineup was huge. It wasn’t even moving. So, we were like, I don’t know if we’ll even make it for the coffee because it was moving really slow. But, we made it. Here it is right here. One month already. You can take it. Yeah. Yeah. So cute. And ice. Oh, how do you get the design? That is beautiful. Green as the grass around us. Okay. I know you don’t normally like the hoicha as much as I do, but I hope this one’s good to you. I think so. I’ve had it in the past and I kind of liked it. This one looks particularly thick. Oh, mine’s good. That’s very good. Your coffee was going to be pretty rich and intense. I feel like this worked out really well. Yeah, this one’s really good. Yeah, and matcha is better for you anyway. So, yay. Excellent. Isn’t this the cutest cutie you’ve ever seen? Hello. Thank you. Yum. She keeps changing, right? She’s a fire. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. This is my mother. Oh yeah. Can’t get much better than that. Trust me, we tried. Never gets old. their own alcohol on board.
