COLDEST CITY In Japan And SNOW LOVERS PARADISE!
This is the coldest city in Japan, where winter once dropped to a record of -41°, where ice crystals can float in the air like glitter in the mornings, where the pavement is frozen over all winter and ramen is made with a thick layer of fat. That’s definitely going to keep me warm. But don’t let the cold put you off because a hidden gem that’s part of the Hokkaido powder belt, known for the best powder snow in the world. We were surrounded by 10 snow resorts. We could even see the closest ski run from the window of our hotel. This snow resort is only 15 minutes from the city. And we got to experience renting all of our snow gear from a vending machine. Let’s go. Look how empty it is. What a freaking view of Asahikawa. It’s also one of the few places in the world where you can ski around an active volcano and it’s where we got to see the famous March of Penguins, roamed the beautiful city center, and stumbled into hidden alleyways packed with tiny izakayas and secret bars. We tried Japan’s most famous dry sake that was brewed in extreme cold, and then warmed up with a hearty soup curry, one of the best curries we’ve ever had. We devoured Shinkoyaki, the most delicious charcoal grilled chicken, and guzzled down Asahikawa’s famous ramen. So if you want to escape the crowds to a paradise for snow lovers, put Asahikawa on your bucket
Put this snowy paradise on your Japan bucket list ☃️🏂🇯🇵
