Ep 18: Yokohama’s, Chinatown; A LeBlanc Family Adventure (Series!) Japan Apr 2025

Last day in Japan. And then, we’re headed to Alaska. We’re going to make to to get out and enjoy, what we can of this short day. In Yokohama. It’s been everything, that you hope and dream when you plan a Japan vacation. *sniff sniff I hope we get to come back some day. So, one thing to consider when coming to Japan is the size of your group. Japan is oriented towards groups of 2. And, groups of 3 at max. If you’re with 4 people. It can get quite difficult, or, quite expensive. They don’t want you in their cabs, 3 max. A lot of restaurants 3 max. 2 is preferred. 3… *Groaning Ok, we’ll do it but, you’re crowded. It’s just part of Japan. Guess the only other solution is pay for 2 cabs. Buy 2 tables. Just gotta squeeze in. Even the parking garages are fancy. It’s our last day in Japan. We’re, we’ve left the Osanbashi Cruise Port. We’re on our way to Chinatown. Check it out, see what’s there. So, we’ll see what there is to do. Got me a sparkling grape soda out of the machine but, it dropped so hard, I’m afraid to open it. It’s gonna fizz all over me. Look at it. Looks delicious. Chinatown. Back in the crazy street of Chinatown. It’s crowded. One thing that’s different about this Chinatown, is the palm readers. There’s a bunch of ’em. *Little dogs yapping That might be all of Chinatown I can handle ’cause, I don’t feel good after ordering the, Dungeness Benedict this morning. My stomach is tore up. Hold on, I’ve gotta get my glasses again. Gotta start walking slowly back ’cause I’m in a lot of pain. *Ambulance sirens Well, there you have it, my last visit to a Japanese Lawson’s. Essentials. Ship waters, Consume Chips, my last little seaweed triangle. And, Shyla, likes these weird Kit Kats. So, new flavor she hasn’t tried. So, that’s my #1 cruise tip. If you don’t get the drink package, and even of you do get the drink package, who wants to sip water out of these little tiny cans? Just go to a Lawson’s. It’s a dollar. You get good bottled water. It’s cold. It’s great. So, anyway, Lawson’s, 7-11, You’ve treated me very well in Japan. You will be missed. Don’t make me use that kind. I am not going in there. Oh, good. There’s a real one. Phew! You gotta straddle the toilet. *Whispering I’ve got a lot of stuff. *Whispering Give me back my dress. *Whispering Where’s the sanitizer? *Whispering No sanitizer. *Toilet flushing Alright, about to board the Noordam for the last time in Japan. The next time we get off will be in about, Was it five or six days? In Kodiak, Alaska. So, back in the USA. This is it, sad, sad goodbye. *Announcements over ship’s intercom Immediately. K, we’re checked in for our couple’s massage, and they brought us to this relaxation room. It’s amazing. Here’s the view. Gotta fill out our papers. I better get off here and hurry up. We have to get naked but first, I want to show you the room. Couple’s massage. Alright, I’m excited. This is going off. We’ll see you after. *Spa music, nature and water sounds. Next fancy dinner. I’ve got a very nice Salad. Carlia’s French Onion Soup. Chilled Apple something-or-other. I think you have ice cream in it. And then, Thomas has the fancy eggs. Seafood fancy eggs. Five Spice Pork. Carlia’s usual. Meatballs. What’s yours? Fettuccini. Thomas got the Fettuccini. Check out our Gluten Free Chocolate Cake. Oh yeah. And, they got regular Strawberry Cake. Our next episode finds us on an 8-day ocean crossing to Alaska.

Episode 18, our last few minutes in Yokohama before saying goodbye to Japan and making our way to Alaska. We decided to take a walk through Yokohama’s Chinatown before getting back on the ship for a couple’s massage and another amazing dinner in the dining room aboard Holland America’s, Noordam.

  3. Lol, I’m with Carlia, minus the sauce, seasoning for me however. Couldn’t risk the possible sweetener content. Great choice Carlia! All the dishes looked amazing. Thank you guys for sharing your journey with us! So amazing. What about handicap provisions there? Wheelchair accessibility? Definitely looks like it would be questionable to board the rail system. Afraid some would get run over by the rush of pedestrian traffic,😱🤭

  4. I have enjoyed all your videos. Japan was definitely and winning place to visit. Looking forward to the sea crossing videos.
