【長野Vlog】心奪われる、雪残る上高地｜澄んだ空気と穏やかな風景に身をゆだねる癒しの旅

The setting for this trip is Nagano Prefecture. The theme of the trip is a trip to enjoy the rich nature. I gently surrendered myself to the tranquil scenery that heals my heart. I hope you will forget about your daily life for a little and enjoy the trip with me. The trip begins at Kamikochi, a famous peak in the Northern Alps. Kamikochi is a mountain resort with a series of mountains over 1,500 meters above sea level. This is a special place where many wild animals live. We will visit quietly so as not to disturb them. For nature conservation reasons, private cars are restricted in Kamikochi. We board a special bus that can go to Kamikochi and head for the walking route. The world of Kamikochi is already unfolding, and it is exciting. The first place we came to was Taisho Pond. Taisho Pond was created overnight when the Azusa River was dammed by lava and mudflows that flowed from the eruption of Mount Yakedake. Kamikochi is so cold that there is still snow even in May. The Hotaka mountain range is reflected on the surface of the water. The windless lake surface is like a big mirror reflecting the sky and mountains. Our journey to Kamikochi has just begun, but the beauty is so overwhelming that we can’t go any further. The scenery of Kamikochi has captured our hearts. Now, let’s take a leisurely stroll to Kappa Bridge. The walking course from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge is about 4km long. We walk along a soothing path with the sounds of babbling water and chirping birds as background music. The Azusa River flows through the center of Kamikochi. It flows calmly and gently, with glass-like transparency. It’s an unrealistic, dreamlike view. The vividness of the colors changes depending on the angle, so you’ll want to look at it forever. The Hotaka mountain range towers over Kamikochi. When you stand in front of the majestic sight of the mountains over 3000m above sea level, the place where we are now at an altitude of 1500m feels low. It’s strange, even though 1500m should be high enough. The further we walk, the deeper the forest becomes. I can feel the presence of animals, which makes me a little excited. After walking through the forest from Taisho Pond for about an hour, we arrived at Tashiro Bridge. The view from here is also breathtakingly beautiful. The river that draws a gentle curve is like a painting. The water surface that sparkles like a jewel is very beautiful. I can’t help but stop in my tracks. Finally, we reach our destination, Kappa Bridge. The view I was looking forward to is almost there. The view from Kappa Bridge, the symbol of Kamikochi, is very impressive. The Northern Alps mountains covered in snow. For me who grew up in Kyushu, the snowy mountains are very fresh. No matter how many times I see them, I never get bored and I am mesmerized. It’s a view that makes me think from the bottom of my heart that I’m glad I came here. I’m hungry, so I take a break on a bench by the river. I eat a Kamameshi bento and a Sanzoku bento. My rumbling stomach is filled and I feel revived. I spent a happy time surrounded by endless mountains and clear air. The next destination was a popular oyaki shop in Nagano City. Oyaki is a Nagano specialty. I’ve heard of it, but I’ve never actually tried it before. Since I’m here, I want to enjoy the authentic taste. The interior is comfortable and open with the warmth of wood . Oyaki are lined up in the display case like sweets. I eat them while they’re still hot . The terrace seats are spacious and offer a panoramic view of the idyllic scenery typical of Nagano. I was greedy and bought four oyaki. First, I started with the classic Nozawana. The soft and chewy dough is packed with ingredients. I didn’t know oyaki could be so delicious. Which one should I get next? Spring onion and miso are a sure combination. It feels like eating a prepared bread. The hot oyaki warms my stomach and my heart. I arrived at my last destination, Zenkoji Temple. Along the approach to the temple, there are many buildings that have stood the same time as the temple. The letters on the traffic lights are also cool and sophisticated. Before praying, let’s take a stroll along the approach to the temple. The scenery of the quaint temple is soothing. Nakamise-dori is lined with many shops. Attracted by the sweet smell, we make a detour to an apple pie shop. This is a popular shop that uses apples grown in Shinshu. It looks delicious wrapped in shiny pie crust. Crispy pie crust with sweet and sour apples. It’s so delicious that you can eat as many as you want. Now that we’ve satisfied our appetites, we finally enter Zenkoji Temple. Zenkoji Temple is a famous temple in Nagano with a history of about 1,400 years. It is a rare non-sectarian temple. It has attracted many worshippers since ancient times, so much so that it is said that “you should visit Zenkoji Temple at least once in your lifetime.” The scent of incense envelops the temple grounds. Your mind becomes so calm that you forget the hustle and bustle around you. It seems that you can climb the mountain gate opposite. I’m sure the view from the top is exceptional. I’ll end my trip with some Shinshu soba. Speaking of Nagano, Shinshu soba is a must. Fujikian is a long-established soba restaurant that has been in business for over 200 years. You can enjoy soba made using a special method called Juuichi soba. The soba is flavorful and chewy. The gentle flavor of the broth and the flavor of the stock soak into it, making it delicious. I also eat tempura, which goes perfectly with the soba. The flavor of the ingredients is packed tightly into the batter. I wonder why tempura at soba restaurants is so delicious. It was a trip filled with delicious and beautiful things.
