World No. 16, Naomi Osaka, began her season with the Auckland Open, where she reached the final round, won the first set, but unfortunately retired due to an abdominal injury. At the Australian Open, she reached the third round, her most notable result in a major tournament since 2022.

Apart from these feats, she clinched the WTA 125 Open de Saint-Malo tournament of the Challenger Tour and was the finalist at the 2025 Canadian Open. She also reached the semifinal stage of the prestigious US Open. She ended her season with a withdrawal from the quarterfinal round at the Japan Women’s Open due to an injury she sustained in her second round.

The winner of seven WTA singles titles reflected on her season, stating: “Here’s my end of year recap for 2025 🥹❤️ When I sit and think about it, I just feel very thankful for this year. I’m thankful for the people I’ve encountered along the way, though our paths might lead in different directions, I will always appreciate the times we had together.”

While sharing her appreciation for the support that she has received and being able to fulfill her dreams with her daughter, Osaka continued, “I’m thankful for my health and being able to wake up each day ready to chase my dreams. I’m also grateful for being able to travel and see the world with my daughter. I’m so honored that I have such amazing people that support me. See you guys next year ✨♥️”

Although injuries marred Paula Badosa’s season, she still managed to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open and the round of 16 in the Dubai Tennis Championships. She also reached the quarterfinal round at the Merida Open Akron, Internationaux de Strasbourg, and the German Open.

Due to her recurring back issues, she did not compete at the Canadian Open, Citi DC Open, Cincinnati Open, Madrid Open, and the Italian Open. The Spanish star, who has won four WTA singles titles, shared an emotional statement, reflecting on her journey, highlighting her growth, inner peace, and healing.

She wrote, touching multiple aspects of her journey, “Healing isn’t forgetting or pretending it didn’t hurt. Healing is looking at yourself with compassion, recognizing your wounds, and understanding that everything you experienced was a necessary part of the journey. It is discovering that peace is not in what you have, or in who accompanies you, but in the simple fact of being able to breathe calmly with yourself.”

Along with her WTA tour tournaments, Badosa also represented Team Spain at the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup. However, the five-time champion, Team Spain, had lost to Ukraine in the quarterfinals.
