The official grand opening date has been announced for the highly anticipated, first-ever permanent outdoor Pokémon theme park.
“PokéPark Kanto” is a completely new 2.6-hectare area located within the Yomiuriland amusement park in the Tama Hills area of Tokyo and is scheduled to open on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

“PokéPark Kanto” will be composed of two distinct areas: the nature-filled “Pokémon Forest” and the attraction-focused “Sedge Town” (Kayatsuri Town in Japanese).

The “Pokémon Forest” is an immersive zone where guests can walk a 500-meter path through hills, grass, and tunnels to observe various Pokémon in their natural habitat.

The park has also teased that there will be some Pokémon that guests can ride on.

“Sedge Town” will feature a game-accurate “Pokémon Center” at its entrance, along with shops for exclusive merchandise, food, and drinks.

This area will also host two attractions: a Pikachu-themed ride called “Pika Pika Paradise” and an Eevee merry-go-round called “Vee Vee Voyage.”

This area will also feature parades with Pikachu and Eevee, as well as live stage shows at the “Sedge Electric Gym.”

An official trailer was released on the Pokémon YouTube channel, showing a 90-second, one-shot glimpse of the new park’s attractions.
A major advisory has been issued for the “Pokémon Forest” area.

Due to its natural, hilly setting, which includes 110 steps, children under the age of 5 and any guests unable to climb the stairs will not be permitted entry for safety reasons, even if accompanied by a guardian.

A separate “Town Pass” for guests who do not wish to or cannot enter the Pokémon Forest, is being prepared and is expected to be available for booking starting in Summer 2026.

Tickets for “PokéPark Kanto” are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 18:00 (JST).

The tickets will be sold via an online lottery system on the park’s official website, and the first application window, for visits between February 5 and March 31, will run from November 21 to December 8.

The “Trainers Pass” (Adult 13+) will start at 7,900 yen (approx. $51.31 USD / £38.99 GBP), and the “Elite Trainers Pass” (Adult 13+) will start at 14,000 yen (approx. $90.93 USD / £69.13 GBP).

Both passes will also grant admission to the main Yomiuriland park.
