Christmas has come early for PlayStation fans after Sony announced plans to hold a special State of Play Japan event later today (November 11).

Gamers are expecting an illustrious line-up of exciting games to be shown during the event, with some predicting the much-anticipated return of Kingdom Hearts.

There’s also speculation that a Spider-Man sequel could be announced, and that the game could be set in Tokyo.

In a break from the usual format, this State of Play will be hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji.

Plus, it will only air in Japanese accompanied by English subtitles, with a focus on games solely from Asia.

The PlayStation State of Play Japan event is scheduled to air on Tuesday, November 11. Fans in the United Kingdom will have to stay up late to watch the 40-minute spectacular, which starts at 10pm GMT.

For other countries and time zones, however, the State of Play commences at 2pm Pacific, 5pm Eastern, 11pm CET, and 7am tomorrow morning if you’re based in Japan.

If you want to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on YouTube. You can watch the Japanese version with English subtitles on the official PlayStation YouTube channel.

Lots of rumours continue to circle around possible surprise game announcements, as well as release dates for games already confirmed to be in development.

Expect to hear more about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a fighting game coming to PlayStation that is due to launch next year.

It was announced back in June and is a special collaboration between Japan-based Arc System Works, Sony and Marvel Games. It is currently being developed for PS5 and PC.
