TOKYO NIGHTS ANIME LOUNGE NEWS
Tokyo Nights Anime Lounge invites the community to a free screening of I Want to Eat Your Pancreas this Friday, Nov. 14 at SALA Event Center. Shinichiro Ushijima’s 2018 film adaption of Yoru Sumino’s light novel is a tender, heartbreaking, and ultimately life-affirming film that explores the unusual, unexpected bond between two characters confronted with terminal illness. Through quiet humor, honest grief, and small, luminous moments, the film confronts the questions of how do we continue to live when we know someone close to us will die, and how do we honor those we lose and build healthy resilience?
It’s more than a movie night for us. It’s a chance to sit with difficult emotions in good company and leave feeling less alone. Whether you’ve lived through loss, support someone who is ill, or simply value stories that help us make sense of living and dying, we invite you to join us and bring a friend.
Tokyo Nights brings curated films and culture from Japan to Los Alamos with a focus on community connection and compassionate storytelling. We believe film can help our community explore life’s hardest questions together. This project is community supported.
