Eating out in Tsuruhashi, Osaka, Japan. Koreatown offers a variety of food in small portions.
Hi! Today’s tour is in Korean Town in Osaka Japan! Let’s go! Tsuruhashi is a Korean town formed after the war when many Korean and Korean-American residents moved there, and you can experience a deep Korean experience by eating Korean food. Tsuruhashi is 1 hour and 10 minutes from Kansai Airport, and 40 minutes by train from Shin-Osaka Station, where the Shinkansen stops. Details are in the description, so don’t forget to subscribe and click the like button. There are many yakiniku restaurants, and it is a popular place among young people and women who love Korea. As soon as you get off at Tsuruhashi Station, you’ll find Tsuruhashi Shopping Arcade, a market where you can eat various foods while walking around, and the delicious aroma of kimchi fills the air. There are many kinds of chijimi and kimchi. Chijimi and kimchi are popular among Japanese people, so they can be easily purchased at Japanese supermarkets, but what does the authentic taste like? These are Korean style seaweed rolls called Kimpa. The great thing about Tsuruhashi cuisine is that you can experience a foreign food culture in small amounts. It appeals to people who want to eat a lot of different kinds of food. It contains eggs, carrots, cucumbers, crab sticks, and something like ham. It has the aroma of sesame oil, is slightly sour, and has a mild flavor that makes it easy to eat. The octopuses in the tank will probably be used to make sannatch, a local specialty where the dancing octopus is eaten. Once we left the residential area, the shopping district came into view again. There are namul and chanja. It was only when I came here that I learned that Japanese spicy mentaiko originated from a food that came from the Korean Peninsula. The huge amount of bracken and the large block of pork are spectacular. This type of sales method is not common in Japan, so it’s very interesting. I’m thirsty, so I head to the fresh juice shop. What would you like to drink? I got the medium size strawberry banana for 480 yen. It’s very cheap. It was fresh and I was looking forward to the tartness of the strawberries. This is a famous convenience store in Korea. I bought corn tea and some popular snacks. It has a richer, more fragrant, and addictive flavor than the corn tea sold in Japan! When I was waiting at the traffic lights on the street, I could hear Korean songs, and it made me feel like I was in Korea. These super cute ttukkaron are filled with lots of cream. We head to Osaka Korean Town. About a 15-20 minute walk southeast from Tsuruhashi Station, the shopping street is lined with Korean food, cosmetics, and general goods stores. There are lots of Pretty socks and popular character items. There is a wide variety of packs available, including hyaluronic acid, AHA, pomegranate, ananas, and placenta. They have eco bags and slippers, and colorful socks and socks with characters seem to be popular. These socks are perfect for trendy Korean fashion. Korean sweets all look so pretty that it’s really hard to decide what to eat. I decided to try the sweet potato bread because the sweet potatoes looked so cute. It’s delicious with a natural sweetness. It’s just like a sweet potato, even inside. The texture is soft and interesting. It doesn’t have the texture of eating bread. I found a small size buchimgae, so I had the kimchi flavor. I thought authentic buchimgae would be spicy, but it only had a faint scent of kimchi and wasn’t spicy at all. This is a food stall where you can enjoy popular Korean street food. There are clothes in store that can be purchased for under 1,000 yen. Korea also has rice cake sweets! Korean rice cakes are often made by steaming non-glutinous rice flour, and are characterized by their firm texture and satisfying taste. We head to a gummy candy specialty store. Although it’s a small shop, it carries gummies from around the world, including some that are popular on social media. I chose the watermelon flavored gummy candy. I wanted to chew the capsule to get the gummy candy out, but it’s difficult. Ah…. Oh my goodness! I opened it with my hands and decided to eat it. It smelled sweet of watermelon. The red sauce brings out the flavor of the watermelon. They have macarons for souvenirs, which are said to be delicious with milk, yogurt, ice cream, and coffee. There are also New York rolls, which are made by baking croissant dough in a spiral shape. There are rainbow 10 yen breads. Recently, colorful sweets have become more popular in Japan. There are seasonings for making kimchi. This is fun! There are different kinds of chijimi, including seafood and vegetable. I like seafood chijimi. For dessert, we had yogurt ice cream with your choice of toppings, such as fruit or honeycomb. I chose kiwi. An addictive flavor with a strong yogurt acidity. This was my first time trying fruit-flavored cereal, and I loved the taste of the Korean sweets. Did you enjoy today’s tour? I hope many good things happen to you today. See you again soon!
