TOKYO IS AMAZING π―π΅ ASIA’S BEST CAPITAL? JAPAN
[Music] [Music] Hello everyone here once again from Japan. So today we are back in the capital of Tokyo. We’re going to be here for around a week and we’re staying in a new neighborhood that we’ve never been to before called Asakuza Bashi. Staying in this building. I think it’s around $63 a night. So we arrived here yesterday afternoon. It seems like a super quiet neighborhood. We barely see any traffic. It actually reminds us of that first neighborhood that we stayed at in Tokyo. Yeah. In Sumida, it was a bit similar. All the like neighborhoods where people live that are not full of hotels, they kind of look like this here in Tokyo. Yeah. Nice and quiet. So, there’s not many hotels around here at all. And we’re also pretty close to the train station. Can see the train passing by right now. And there’s quite a few bridges in this neighborhood. So this is the Kanda River. Can see all the tour boats. So you can do boat tours around here. I think you can also have meals on the boats. So that would be pretty cool if we had more time. This connects to the main Sumida River down there. One of the biggest rivers in Tokyo. So now we walk into another neighborhood called Akihabara. It’s one of the popular shopping neighborhoods. And it’s kind of funny cuz it’s only 10 minutes to there. And you’re gonna see over there it’ll be full of tourists. But here we don’t see any at all. And people often say online about Tokyo being overrun with foreigners, but it’s only really some specific neighborhoods. They’re not everywhere. It’s very specific places really. The popular ones like Shinjuku, those kind of areas. So we wed down here last night. It’s a pretty cool part. Got lots of bars and stuff. I also like how they’ve used the space underneath the train tracks for some bars and restaurants too, the arches. Last year we stayed around Tokyo Tower and they also did that there too. We went to one of the bars [Music] And this is Akihabara. So, we’ve also never been to this neighborhood before. Known for its electronic stores. Mainly popular cuz it sells things to do with anime, manga, the Japanese video games. So, going to be checking out some of those stores. So, you can already see the anime style drawings on the front of the buildings. And this is the one that we’re heading to now. We actually went there last night for a while. It’s called Radio Kai. Massive, isn’t it? Yeah. I think they have like eight different floors and each floor is like dozens of different stores. So, it’s like the the dream for people who like that type of things like anime and stuff cuz you have so many options of things to buy. But you’re probably going to spend a lot of money. Yeah. Got the classic Game Boys. Game Boy Color. Did you have a Game Boy? Yeah, I used to have one. The color one? No, it was like a gray one. Maybe older model. Yeah, I had the color one though. I remember. I would actually play uh Pokemon many years ago. And the majority of the stores are just selling these figures. Naruto, the famous one. Got Sonic down here. I was just checking the price of this small one is around $46 for the tiny one. For the tiny one. Yeah. Yeah. Last night we saw a PokΓ©mon card that I think was $400,000 yen for one card. It was almost $3,000. Like a rare card. I guess people collect those things. So here’s some of the cards. Wo, that one’s even more expensive. 700 and 28,000. That’s a crazy price. It’s a very expensive hobby to have. Definitely. You can buy a PokΓ© Ball 600. Not actually that bad. I want to buy this one. Nice and soft. The funny thing is it’s like all these dolls and stuff, but it’s mainly adults buying things. No kids. Exactly. And this is the studio Gibli section. So, we’ve seen that film before. Spirited Away. My neighbor Dr. You can even buy the soundtracks. [Music] So, I bought this one yesterday. It’s a Uno game, but the theme is the Toto movie. Studio Gibli. Yeah. They also have the Pikachu Pokemon themed. Yeah. But I prefer this one. 1540. I think we’re going to buy this little things. cuz I think it’s like a keychain thing, but they have our names. This one is Carol, apparently. That’s what they say it is. And this one is Chris. Mine looks easier. Yeah. 990 yen each. Yeah, they have all sorts of names. Never seen how my name is written in Japanese before, so that’s cool. Yeah, it was way way way more relaxed here last night. So if you want it a bit emptier, still busy, I guess. Come at night. It’s still busy during the night, but it’s not like this. Yeah, we could walk around a bit more freely at night. And also, I was filming in the stores, but always look at the front of the store cuz quite a lot of them don’t allow filming or photos. So, I’d check that first. [Music] So, this place is called Kappa Sushi. It’s an easy place to come to cuz you just choose everything on this screen and then they bring it here for you. So, you can get two pieces of sushi, 110 after tax, probably get that one. Here it comes. Mommy always for Carol. Yeah. So, it tells you when it’s arriving, too. Probably get this, too. Tune and salmon also 110. This salmon one 110. There’s more expensive ones. I’m just going for the the cheaper ones. And I’ll get a large oolong tea 300. Some guoza for Carol too. More coming non-stop. I really like this though. Super easy. Even the drinks come on the bell. The oolong tea. I think we went to one last time, but the drinks at least the the lady would bring it. Yeah. No waitress. Yeah. Here really is everything. Sushi is really good. We love sushi. We’ve mainly been eating like ramen here though. Not so much sushi in Japan so far. But is it miso soup? No, it’s a udong mixed with a vegetable from really nice. So I’m not sure what the name of this is. I’ve had it before though. That’s why I got four plates of it. So it’s rice in the middle and wrapped around it is sweet tofu. They’re really nice and sweet. [Music] [Music] [Music] During our trip in Japan, we have been using Olaf Fly e Sims once again to get unlimited data on our phones. An ESIM is a virtual SIM card, which means you don’t need to buy a physical SIM card for every destination that you visit. Japan is definitely a place that you will be using the internet often while navigating the transportation systems to get around Tokyo and the country to book tickets online for attractions and the most important for us is to help with translations. We don’t speak Japanese and the majority of the people here don’t speak English. So, we need to be online to be able to use the translator apps. At the majority of restaurants, we need to translate the menus to order food and drinks. The Olafly Eim has been reliable all the time here in Tokyo on the Okinawa islands and in all the other countries that we have used them. One of the biggest perks for us is that Olafly offers unlimited data in over 200 destinations including Japan. So you never have to worry about running out of data or paying for topups. Plus you can customize the number of days you need which is convenient for trips of any length. They have plans for specific countries, regional plans, and global plans. Setting up the Olafly Eim is really easy. When you buy one on their website, they instantly send you a QR code via email. Then you scan the QR code to install the EIM and it’s ready to go in minutes. You can set it up before your trip so that you have internet the moment you arrive. Grab an Olafly Eim for your next trip by clicking on the link in the video description and use our code jumping places for 5% off your order. So now we’ve come to the Tokyo Skytree. So this is in Sumida where we stayed last time. We wanted to come up here last year but it was all sold out I think. Yeah, it was fully booked. So for this time we had to make the the the reservation in advance. I think right when it opened for the date that we wanted to come, we instantly bought it and this time we were able to get the tickets. I think one one month ago we bought it for today. Yeah, we had to plan. So that was around $20 for the ticket on Cluke. So we’ll put that link in the video description below. And we’re also going to be meeting our friends from Brazil. Yeah, finally. Uh, I mean, we’ve been with them already, but this trip has been something that we’ve been looking for for a long time because they they always love Japan, the idea of traveling Japan, and it’s good to be here with them. Yeah, I think they’re actually up there already. So, let’s head up. So, there’s also a mall at the entrance of the Sky Tree. More PokΓ©mon things. I remember I used to play a game called Super Smash Brothers, and you’d have Kirby. It’s the Kirby store. Kirby Cafe. So, we’re going to that floor. 450 m, but the tower is 634. Hello, Kaio and Karina. How long have you known each other? Uh, since we were 2 years old. Yes, since Since 2 years. Preschool. Caillou? I don’t know. How long have you been dating? Uh, 10 years. Yeah, just uh we have completed recently. 10 years. 10 years. Yes. Nice. This is actually our trip that we uh celebrating this time. Congratulations. Thank you. All right, we are on the first deck to infinity and beyond. So, our ticket actually has two decks included. Yeah, it’s really hard to talk because it’s really really busy. Yeah, it is absolutely packed. Man, the views are really impressive, bro. So, I think that’s Sumida River, is it? Yeah, it is. And Senoji Temple should be somewhere around there, but we cannot see. Yeah, around the corner. I don’t even know where that other river is about there. So, this is the biggest tower in uh Tokyo. Pretty cool. Last time we only went to Tokyo Tower, which is nice, too. So, from this side, we can see Sogoji Temple, the famous temple, just the top of it over there. So, I think last time we were over here, weren’t we? Yeah, we stayed around here and I remember that we went to that park, not a park, but that river walk for the cherry blossom. Cherry blossom. It was really nice. It was really beautiful. It was all along the the riverside. Almost got a bit of a sunset coming through there. We did choose the sunset time, but it’s been super cloudy. Looks like it’s raining that way. [Music] Okay. [Music] Thank you. [Music] So, we’ve come to one of the arcades like we always do. Carol and Kyle are going to have a dance offer. [Music] There’s multiple floors. So, this is the dance floor, I think. Well, you got this, too. I don’t know what that is. We’ll play some other games, too. [Music] Hello. [Music] Hello. [Music] So, it is the next morning and we’ve come to Shinjuku, Shinjuku Garden. We never came here last time when we visited Tokyo. It’s 500 yen per person to enter. Basically, just a really big park. I think there’s ponds, different things like that. It’s pretty dark in here. It’s a very cloudy day. Looks like a storm’s coming actually. And the weather has been absolutely perfect here in Tokyo around 22Β° C. So for us, that’s like the the best weather temperature to be walking around a city. When we were in Fukuoka a few weeks ago, I think it was like 33 34Β°. Yeah. And Okinawa, it was also very hot here. Like I said, it’s perfect. So, here we’ve got a building called the Taiwan Pavilion. I think it’s supposed to have a nice view of the pond. [Music] Yeah, I said that it looked like a rainstorm was coming. It only took about 5 minutes. We’re going to head to Starbucks, take shelter. The rain is good business for Starbucks. Everybody’s escaped like us. I went for this chocolate chips gone and Carol was that chips and the ice latte. A short one. 1,611. Impossible to get a seat now. Pretty nice view from the Starbucks, though. So, it stopped raining now. Probably lasted about 30 minutes overall. And I think we’re just going to miss the autumn colors here in Japan. I think in about 3 weeks time is when everything’s going to be the beautiful shades of red, yellows, oranges. There’s also a greenhouse that we can enter. And there’s a museum on the other side. So I think that’s why you pay cuz there is quite a lot of things in here. It’s not just a park. It’s a greenhouse jungle. Yeah, it’s like we’re back in the tropic thing of Canawa. It’s really cool. Lots of colorful flowers, too. Is that a waterfall? Yeah. Not a real one. Artificial. [Music] So, we’re making our way to a shrine now. About a 12minute walk from the garden. Pretty cool street here. All these food places. Really nice style. A lot of the buildings. probably got a bite to eat after the shrine. You can see the Tory gate entrance of the shrine nestled in the middle of the big city, the big modern city. So, this one is called Hanozono shrine. It’s from the Edo period. It’s around the early 1600s and the mid 1800s, also known as the Tokugawa period. If you watch the series Shogun, Tokugawa is the main general in that series. We watched it last year. Looks like they’re reconstructing a lot of the buildings. Oh yeah, there’s a lot of work going on here, even on the main one. can still basically see how it is though. That’s a shame. It’s all under repairment. I don’t know. Yeah. It’s not the peaceful Shinto temple experience that we usually get. They always have this at the Shinto temples. Looks like lightning. Not sure what it represents, but I think every single one that we’ve been to has that. You can see it back there as well. The rain has come back again. The forecast did say it was going to keep raining, so the forecast was accurate. I think it’s the first time it’s been raining properly on this trip, though, so been pretty lucky so far. [Music] So, now we’re in the center of Shinjukum. They’ve closed off the road, so there seems to be an event going on. Obviously, the weather’s putting a downer on the event, though. But it is still very, very busy. Yeah. But not many people stopping. Just people walking by. Live music this way. We’re just going to a ramen place, Ian, which is the same one that we ate at in Fukuoka. [Applause] So, it turns out that it’s exactly the same as the one in Fukuoka. We thought that they’d have a different kind of ramen, but it’s the tonkatu again. So, I got this one for 1,450, which is pork bone boiled. So, that’s how you get the the stew or the soup. Here’s the pork. Got some extra slices again and the egg. So, I’ll put the the egg in there. [Music] So, it’s night time now and we come to a place called Kabuku Kichu, which is one of the coolest places to come in Tokyo for the night life. We came here last year, too. We actually did a video just on this region, like a 20minute video. Went to some bars, karaoke places, too. They watched the video and they want to go to some of the the places that we visited. the same places. Yeah. And as you can see, it is still raining. So, it pretty much rained the whole day, but it’s only gentle now, so not too bad. I think it’s almost 11 p.m., so we’re actually coming pretty late, I think. But it should be lively at this time. Already seen some pretty drunk looking people. So, the building at the end with the Godzilla, I think that’s a cinema. We’ve never been in there, though. And then everything else is just mainly stores, restaurants, bars. There’s also a lot of gentlemen’s clubs. That looks like a dog cafe. Cafe with dogs. I think you can go to cafes with capy bars, too. All sorts of different animals. So, I think we’re going to go to the part that we went to last time called Golden Guy. Pretty much everywhere there are bars. This part looks pretty vibrant. Carol’s got the directions on there. Yeah. How far are we? Yeah, we’re doing kind of a detour now just to walk down the streets. Yeah, I think I remember seeing this artwork last time. Yeah. Yeah, we we passed through here. Massive one. Tiger robot show. So, basically every building here is a bar. Yeah, but the bars are tiny, so it’s probably like five or six people only inside. Yeah, it’s hard to get a seat usually. Look, all super cramped. The karaoke place was at the end, so we might just go there. There was more space in the the karaoke place. We went to one, but they said you have to pay a,000 per person just to sit down. No drinks included. I don’t remember having to do that last time. I think all we had to do is drink something. Look how cra this one is. So, we finally got into a place. So, I got a Saporro beer. Carol got some sort of orange liquor. They have all sorts of different whisies here. The whiskey bar. only a kiss. It was only [Applause] and I say [Applause] somewhere we can be alone. I’ll be waiting. I’ll be the princess. I’m not sorry, baby. Just say yes. That’s cheers in Japanese. [Applause] We were we were you in your head. In your head. What’s in your head? In your head. [Applause] Like he said, I didn’t leave my way. I just want to live. Well, I’m alive. It’s my life. [Applause] [Music]

That's inarizushi.
Like number 320
Number 325. Although no one believes it, Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is a bicontinental city. That is, it is in two continents. In this case, it would be the continent of Asia and the continent of Oceania.
Like number 327.
Tokyo is beautiful! Thanks for sharing β€
Now that is what I call awesome. Itβs nice and quiet and near the r/r station. Itβs great to be walking with the two of you. β€β€β€β€β€β€. The eggs wrapped rice is Inari. It delis.
Nice to see you guys let loose with some friends! Have a great time!
I was in Tokyo for the very first time back in August. There is a lot to see, do, and eat but if I had to live in Tokyo, I would choose the outer suburbs where its not as crowded like where Studio Ghibli is located or where Harry Potter World is located.
Fun place !
Party on!
Loved the party time at the Karaoke Bar also the high tower! I have Tonkatsu Rahmen at least once a week. Enjoy! π
Hola! Gracias por el video. VisitarΓ© tokyo en Enero, podrΓan compartir el hostel donde se hospedaron?

20:34 They are called Shide(η΄ε). They are used in purification rituals of the Shinto religion. Basically a symbol of purity that can hold a Kami(god).
