🚌Tourists: “How do I Ride the Bus in Hiroshima?”

💻 Visit http://www.joyinhiroshima.com for more insider content.

Travelers in Hiroshima have three ways to pay bus fare. First, you can pay with coins. However, when you pay with coins, you have to put in the exact fare. There is a change maker to help travelers do that, but the whole system is somewhat inconvenient. More convenient are Japanese IC cards. Most of the major ones, like JR West’s ICOCA and JR East’s SUICA, are accepted on Hiroshima’s city busses. However, the most convenient way to pay for any transportation you need is to take advantage of the new Mobiry Days electronic passes for tourists. Buy the Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass, “Tabi-pass,” for unlimited travel on six bus lines, the Hiroden streetcar, and Miyajima ferries. Just show the pass on your phone to the driver or gate attendant—easy as Japanese pie.
