The crew behind an acclaimed Falls Church sushi restaurant is bringing its newest endeavor to Rosslyn.

Neko Panchi, from the husband-wife duo that operates Yume Sushi in Falls Church, will be the newest eatery at the food hall Upside on Moore at 1700 N. Moore Street. It’s scheduled to open on Monday, Nov. 17, according to a press release.

Neko Panchi offers make-your-own sushi and bao buns

The cat-themed restaurant, whose name translates to “cat punch,” will focus on the founders’ “inventive style of sushi and Japanese street snacks.”
Diners will be able to create custom bao buns with proteins including chicken karaage, shrimp tempura and soft shell crab, plus veggies like pickle cucumber, scallion and japalpeños.
Make-your-own hand rolls and sushi sandwiches, meanwhile, come with protein options such as salmon, spicy tuna, chicken, sweet potato and mushroom, plus an array of vegetables, sauces and toppings.

Appetizers and signature rolls are also available

Diners can start their meals by selecting appetizers such as seaweed salad, cucumber salad, edamame and spicy miso soup.
An array of signature rolls include the UPSIDE Roll — with spicy crab, avocado, cucumber and cooked shrimp — and the Cat Punch Roll with shrimp tempura, tuna, cucumber and eel sauce.
“Classic” sushi rolls like tuna, yellowtail and salmon are also available.

It will be open six days a week

Starting with the grand opening on Nov. 17, Neko Panchi will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
The restaurant is the latest endeavor from Chef Saran “Peter” Kannasute and Cici Yang.
The couple operates D.C. eateries Kyojin and Rimtang in addition to Yume Sushi.
