IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened the Garner Hotel Kyoto Shijo Karasuma, a 103-room property in Kyoto, Japan.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the Garner Hotel Kyoto Shijo Karasuma. The hotel is located in Kyoto’s Shijo Karasuma district, a central area known for its historical significance. The property features 103 rooms and underwent extensive renovations before its launch.
The Garner Hotel Kyoto Shijo Karasuma is part of IHG’s Garner brand, which now includes four locations in Japan, with three existing properties in Osaka. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Gojo Station and Shijo Station, offering easy access to key attractions in Kyoto, including Nishiki Market, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Gion, and Kawaramachi.
The hotel offers 95 single rooms, designed for solo travelers, that emphasize quality sleep and practical amenities. Guests have access to the 24/7 Garner Shop, which provides snacks, drinks, and everyday essentials. Complimentary tea and coffee are available in the lobby, along with a welcome drink.
The Garner brand, launched in 2023, has expanded rapidly with over 70 hotels open globally and an additional 80 in development. The brand plans to enter the Thai market by the end of the year.
