In 2019, he showed off his pitch form at his home mound, which was his first time in six years since his retirement from active duty. No bounce also floated a little higher, saying reliever mound, “I was nervous. It was a ball…, it’s a pity. I’ll practice,” he said, with a smile that oozes frustration.

He himself participated in the same championship in 2005 when he was with NTT West Japan, and contributed to the team’s runner-up finish. “Being a working adult is definitely unique. You’re representing your company in the game, so you felt a different kind of tension and pressure. It was a very big two years for my baseball career. He also sent a message of encouragement to his former team, NTT West Japan, who advanced to the second round on October 30th, saying, “I have high expectations for them. I hope they do their best.”
