Those of us who remember the drama of the old Gotthard Tunnel route through the high Alps will find this a disappointment, now that the most scenic hour has become 20 minutes in the new Gotthard Base Tunnel. But as the video shows, those who don;t know what they’re missing will find it a scenic and enjoyable journey on excellent trains, past lovely Swiss & Italian lakes.
