On October 23, snow accumulated on 3,776-meter-high Mount Fuji. The Kofu Local Meteorological Office in Yamanashi Prefecture announced that this marked the first snowcap on the summit this season. This is 21 days later than usual and the third latest occurrence since observations began in 1894. The snow is believed to have fallen during the daytime of October 22.
