Is this the BEST place for Pokélids? #pokemon #pokemonmanholes #japan #japantravel #Kobe #pokélids

I’m on my own Pokemon adventure with one goal in mind, to find all of the Pokemon manholes or Poke Lids that are scattered throughout Japan, to promote my Instagram. My adventure brought me to the Aaji Islands in the Hyo Prefecture. These islands serve as the inspiration for the Whirl Islands in the games. So, it makes sense that our first Pokeylade features Lugia. Lugia is found in the Whirl Islands in the games, but something about this lid reminds me of Lugia’s status as the guardian of the seas in the second Pokémon movie. I don’t know. It looks awesome. This lid is located right next to the Akashi Kaiko Bridge. The most breathtaking bridge I’ve ever seen. I’d argue this is so far the best location of any Poke Lid I’ve found, but I’m also a bridge boy. I’m pretty biased. Lugia is a legendary Pokémon, so I decided I’d do a headstand next to it. This is a tradition I’ve come to regret. Next up is a Pokeade found next to the Awaji Earth Museum, or am I know what this museum is? You walk in and it’s just a sign that says, “Look down.” It features bay leaf and aromatis. Aromatis is likely here because Aaji Island is well known for its scents. In fact, it’s often referred to as the birthplace of incense in Japan. Bayaf, I’m not too sure. There are no bay leaves on Aaji Island, but there are Aaji onions. I love bay leaf, but hate onions, so I’m hoping this isn’t the connection. And our last Poke Lid had Cloister and Gastradon. Gastradon is a sea slug, and if you do a little bit of research, you’ll find that there are plenty of sea slugs around the Aaji Islands. Side note, Gastradon is not a snail, so don’t spend hours trying to research about snails in Aaji Island. That would be a colossal waste of time. There are a few reasons why Cloyster could be here. I think one reason relates to the Akashi Kaiko Bridge, which is nicknamed the Pro Bridge. I think having the bridge in the background of the Poke Lid gives this theory a little bit of credence. If you like learning about Pokeids, then make sure to watch the full video on my YouTube channel. I went to the real world Jodo region where I found dozens of Jodo themed Poke Lids. But for now, my manhole hunt continues

If you have the chance to visit Kobe, you should definitely make sure you also get to the Awaji Islands! There, you have three amazing Pokélids waiting for you! Also, a beautiful view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the second longest suspension bridge in the world!
