Taiwanese national team catcher Lyle Lin participated in Nippon-Ham' fall training camp.

Taiwanese catcher Lyle Lin, who played in the US minor leagues this season, participated in Nippon-Ham’ fall training camp as a test player on the 31st. He is scheduled to participate in practice until the end of the first training session on the 3rd.

Originally from New Taipei City, Taiwan, Lin moved to the United States after high school. After graduating from Arizona State University, he was selected by the Diamondbacks in the 14th round (422nd overall) of the 2019 MLB Draft. He is a right-handed catcher who bats and throws right. In the Premier12 final last November, he hit the winning home run off The Giants into the right field stands, making a major contribution to Taiwan’s victory.

In the minor leagues, he played in a total of 208 games, batting .217 with 3 Home Run and 63 RBI. This season he played in the Athletics’ Double A division until July, but joined the American independent league in August. He didn’t produce any results, batting .153 in 22 games. He also expressed his desire to play in the NPB, which is why he decided to participate in this training camp.
