TOKYO: State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Ayano told Moroccan Minister Delegate Karim Zidane on Thursday that Japan is looking to further develop bilateral relations, particularly in the economic field, leading up to next year’s 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, Japan’s Foreign Ministry stated.

Zidane, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in Charge of Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, introduced Morocco’s efforts to promote investment, stating his intention to increase the number of Japanese companies in Morocco.

Kunimitsu noted that Japan and Morocco have built cordial bilateral relations based on the friendship between the Imperial and the Royal Families, and that Japan places importance on this partnership. 

Both sides agreed to work together to strengthen cooperation across a wide range of fields, including further expansion of opportunities for Japanese companies in Morocco.
