Okinawa has 160 islands and you can explore a lot of them. If you want to do a tour on your own, you can head down to the port right in town and hop on a ferry that will take you out. Or you can do what I did and do an organized tour where you can go snorkeling and/or diving. I went out to the Kurama Islands, which are one of the most popular island chains to go and visit here. And it was stunning out there. I got to spend the entire day on the boat and the diving was amazing. The water was so clear. The reef was absolutely massive. There were tons of little fish and some highlights included seeing a lion fish, spotted moray, a bunch of different anemone fish, as well as a pygmy seahorse. And I think that that’s one of the things about Okinawa. It’s this natural beauty that makes it so
