Nippon-Ham catcher Yua Tamiya took part in a batting practice on the final day of fall practice at Escon on the 29th.

Since autumn practice is voluntary, the menu is free. While many players are doing training and sprints, Tamiya is the only fielder to hold a bat and take part in free batting practice on ground.

For about 15 minutes, he hit a good sound against the batting pitcher, and wiped the sweat from his brow as he said, “They asked me if I wanted to do it, and I said yes.I don’t get to bat alone in Ace Combat, so I’m getting the luxury of being able to bat.”

This season, he played in 79 games with a batting average of .253 and five Home Run. He had a strong month in August, hitting .345 in 19 games, but in September his batting average dropped to .200, showing big ups and downs in his performance. With the fall training camp to be held at ESCON starting on the 31st, he was enthusiastic, saying, “When I’m in good form, I get good results. I hope I can somehow acquire the skills to hit when I’m not in good form.”
