Overlooking Beppu, Mount Tsurumi, is a 1375 meter high mountain accessible by walk if you are really motivated or via a very convenient ropeway.
On top of Mount Tsurumi you will find a little park with a quick hike around the top. What’s unique here is Mount Tsurumi’s breathtaking view of Beppu city and the surrounding area all year long, day or night! The best season to enjoy Mt Tsurumi would be around spring with the first cherry blossoms, then around mid-May to early June with a beautiful parterre of rhododendron and of course the autumn colors!

Dominant Beppu, le Mont Tsurumi est une montagne de 1375 mètres d’altitude accessible à pieds pour les plus motivés, ou par un très confortable téléphérique.
Au sommet du Mont Tsurumi, vous trouverez un petit parc ainsi qu’un bref parcours qui fait le tour. Mais l’intérêt principal ici est la vue frappante sur la ville de Beppu et de ses environs, de jour comme de nuit, tout au long de l’année! Mais la meilleure saison pour profiter du Mont Tsurumi est le printemps avec la floraison des premiers cerisiers. Il est également agréable de s’y rendre en Mai avec la floraison des rhododendrons, ainsi qu’en automne, bien sûr!
