For the first time in its history, Orlando International Airport (MCO) will offer nonstop passenger charter flights to Tokyo, marking a major milestone in international travel between Florida and Asia.
The new service with ZIPAIR Tokyo represents the first-ever nonstop passenger connection between Florida and the Asia Pacific region, creating a direct route between two of the world’s most visited destinations – Tokyo Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort.
Announced at the Hotel New Otani in Tokyo, the new ZIPAIR charter route will connect Narita International Airport (NRT) and Orlando International Airport for four roundtrip flights between February 23 and March 10, 2026. The flights will depart and arrive in the afternoon at both destinations, offering convenient daytime travel for passengers.
This partnership makes Tokyo Orlando’s largest unserved Asian market now connected for the first time. It also opens the possibility for future scheduled service depending on the performance of these initial flights.
Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, called the new partnership “more than just a new route,” describing it as a historic milestone for Florida’s aviation and tourism industries. “This will be the first-ever nonstop passenger flight between Asia Pacific and the state of Florida,” said Lyttle. “We look forward to welcoming ZIPAIR passengers with the warmth and hospitality that both our nations cherish.”
ZIPAIR Tokyo President Shingo Nishida added that the airline is proud to launch the first nonstop charter flight from Japan to Orlando. “By operating these charter flights for travelers from Japan, we hope to meet our customers’ expectations when they experience ZIPAIR’s new standard in air travel,” Nishida said.
The announcement was met with widespread support from Central Florida tourism and business leaders who have long worked to establish direct service to Japan.
Faron Kelley, Disney Destinations: “Direct connectivity between Orlando and Tokyo brings Disney magic closer than ever. This new nonstop flight opens the door to unforgettable vacations for families and friends on both sides of the globe.”
Casandra Matej, Visit Orlando: “This is a landmark moment for Orlando, opening an entirely new gateway and making us the first destination in Florida with connectivity with Asia. It reflects years of collaboration with Orlando International Airport, Disney, and several Central Florida tourism partners.”
D.T. Minich, Experience Kissimmee: “Connecting two continents through this new air service is also a bridge between cultures, economies, and opportunities.”
Atsuko Germano, MickeyNet, LLC: “This charter service will open the door for countless families and travelers to enjoy unforgettable adventures on both sides of the Pacific.”
