$1500 LUXURY onsen hotel?! We explore Jozankei, Hokkaido and stay at 5 star hot spring ryokan!
Hey everyone, it’s Cat here from Food Inbox and today we are in Josenai which is a onen town pretty close to Sapodoro. It’s about 1 hour drive on the bus and this little sleepy town is known for its hotring hotels. So, we are going to be staying at a place that’s called Chalet Ivy, and it is very fancy. So, there’s this shop that’s across the bridge from the park, and they sell raw eggs, so you can go and put them into the onset. Now, apparently, the water is very hot. It’s like 80°. They look at the temperature of the water every morning to let you know how long to put the eggs in for, and today it’s 14 minutes. By the way, these were 180 yen for three eggs, so that’s about like $2. Pretty cheap. Caution though, there is a known crow in the vicinity that tries to steal the egg. So keep an eye out and don’t get in a fight with the crow. Hey Siri, set a timer for 14 minutes. The amazing thing as well is that right next to the place where you would boil the onen eggs, there is a foot spa perfectly temperatureed for you to relax at while you wait for the 14 minutes. So after you’ve finished cooking your eggs in the hotring, you can actually take it back to that shop and they have a little restaurant area. of warmth tracing as moments pass. What’s really cool about this place is it actually has a river that runs through the entire town. And especially at this time of year during winter, it is so magical with the snow everywhere. So, we’re here. Our hotel is over here. This one here. And we kind of walk down there. And then we’re going to probably go around here and then go down here to this little bridge. Time slows down my thin these walls. Hearts beat soft and whispered cold. Raise your cup. Let the world slow down in our fin. Oh, it’s ulty. Hey. Hey. Hey. So with your stay there is a 10 course menu that is included. This is a artisan cola. I love my cola. Oh Yeah, that’s good. Thank you. The second course is a Wagyu beef rolls with eggplant. And this is such a little work of art. The next course is a assortment of sashimi. Next came out a tempura fried dish. The fried bimmen is actually nice. It’s citrusy. I think it goes with the abalone very well. You’d like to watch this cinnamon bait. M perfectly called cocado wagu with like truffle sauce and truffles. Post main course, they give you a whole big tub of rice that’s cooked with chicken and mushroom. You can see in noki and mini mushrooms in here. It looks delicious. White chocolate mous on top. Pumpkin with brulee sugar on top. And it’s a great dessert to round it all up. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat.
