Welcome to Kyoto! This is Kyoto’s main station Our stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae It was kinda cloudy today, but the sun came out, so we went exploring! This is the entrance gate called Nio-mon There’s also this beautiful view overlooking Kyoto. We came a bit late, so there are more people than in the morning. Iconic Kiyomizu-dera. I really recommend exploring the less crowded spots around the main hall. The whole stage is supported by 139 pillars without a single nail! We kept exploring the surrounding streets. Frozen strawberries and matcha ice cream! Another iconic spot — Yasaka Pagoda. Visiting the popular Kōdaiji Temple. There’s also a small bamboo forest without many people! This complex used to be an old teahouse. We’re entering the Gion part of the city! Yasaka Shrine. I really recommend visiting this place at night too! Heading back to the hotel to rest. We visited Fushimi Inari Taisha. A very popular spot, famous for its 10,000 torii gates. The big crowd was only at the start of the torii gates. You should keep walking a bit further, and you’ll have the paths all to yourself. Fushimi Inari is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Foxes are believed to be Inari’s messengers, which is why there are many fox statues around the shrine. Random Cat Appearance 🐈 There was nobody around, which made the atmosphere really spooky. There’s also a small pond with koi fish! Back at the start, waiting for the night. The lights were amazing! Back in Gion to explore the nightlife. Some of these streets are really dark! The next day, we headed to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. It’s a super famous tourist spot too! We also stopped by a few beautiful temples along the way. I totally recommend getting indoor tickets — walking there barefoot is such a unique experience! The famous Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. On our last day in Kyoto, we enjoyed some amazing wagyu steak and a few other dishes. Off to Tokyo! Thanks for watching! See you in Tokyo!
