One night, one day in Sendai Japan, beef tongue, edamame smoothie, public bath, stopover to Sapporo

Sendai, Japan, July 18 2025 – Sendai was a nice stopover on our way to Sapporo. It was a pleasant surprise that the place was bustling with life, just like Hong Kong:) And what is more delightful is that we didn’t expect that our hotel, the Hotel Monte Hermana Sendai has its own public bath which we enjoyed twice. We also tried the jyutan or beef tongue, which is famous in Sendai, as well as the edamame smoothies. Jyutan or beef tongue though, was something to be tried for the sake of trying (or in our case, because we are so hungry) after queuing up for Shinkansin or bullet train tickets for quite a while, before we had our lunch. Surprisingly, Sendai was such a beautiful city in Japan with lots of places to enjoy and shop, if only we had enough time. Our hotel room, though, was a typical Japanese room (not so big) but our hotel was located in front of the train station and very close to the shopping mall. We were delighted that we were able to visit Sendai, even if it’s only for one night, on our way to Sapporo.
