Expositions promoting K-beauty and medical tourism are being held in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced that they will hold the “2025 Korea Beauty & Medical Fair 2025” in Japan, the first market for medical tourism to Korea, until the 28th.
The K-Beauty & Medical Fair, which concluded successfully from October 25 to 26 in Tokyo, will move to Osaka from October 27 to 28.
Of the 1.17 million medical tourists who visited Korea in 2024, about 440,000 were Japanese, accounting for more than 37% of the total, ranking overwhelmingly first.
The corporation planned this event to expand the demand for Japanese medical tourism centered on dermatology to various aesthetic treatments such as ophthalmology, plastic surgery, and oriental medicine treatment, and to create new demand for medical tourism such as men.
From the 25th to the 26th, a large-scale consumer event was held near Tokyo Station under the slogan of “Korea Traveling to Update Me.”
On both days, more than 10,000 local consumers visited to prove their high interest in K-beauty. A famous Japanese actor, Kyoko Hasegawa, was appointed as an honorary ambassador for Korean tourism, and he directly introduced his travel experience to Korea through a Korean tourism talk show, drawing enthusiastic responses from local fans.
Famous influencers such as 1 million beauty YouTubers and Japanese popular comedian duo took the stage to share the latest beauty trends in Korea.

In addition, the corporation has set up △ 1:1 consumer counseling at Korean medical institutions △ K-beauty (personal color, scalp, skin diagnosis) experience space △ Korea Tourism Promotion Center so that participants can enjoy various contents.
On the 24th, the corporation held a Travel Mart at the Westin Hotel in Tokyo in connection with the ‘K-Beauty & Medical Fair’.
A total of 31 organizations, including Korean medical and wellness institutions and the Japanese tourism industry, attended and held heated business consultations. The past three days of events in Tokyo have led to 730 consultations, with sales expected to reach 1.9 billion won.
Osaka will hold a seminar involving Korean specialists for local consumers who are highly interested in medical tourism.
In addition, medical and wellness promotion booths and makeup talk shows reflecting personal colors will be held.
“Korea is competitive based on its excellent medical technology,” said Lee Dong-seok, head of the medical wellness team at the corporation. “Based on Korea’s strengths, the corporation will continue to lead quantitative and qualitative growth by promoting intensive marketing for Japanese tourists, mainly individual travelers.”
