Kagoshima is one of my favorite rural areas in Japan. It’s super quiet! 👍🏼

Shin-Osaka Station to Kagoshima Chuo Station One way price for adult is 23,820 yen (free if you have a JR pass).

The trip is 4 hours and 13 minutes by bullet train (11 hours if you drive, 2 days if you walk), bring an ekiben (train bento) & snacks. What ekiben would you buy in the train station? I usually get a Yakiniku ekiben 🤤

Kagoshima is famous for the active volcano—Sakurajima, Sengan-en garden (great view of the volcano), wagyu, Satsuma pottery, black pork, shochu, and sweet potatoes. Where would you go first???😊🗾
