Singapore Travel Vlog: Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights 2025
It’s been nine years since our last trip to Singapore, and it feels great to be back. This time, it’s not just for travel. I’m here for the Singapore Ink Show, where my back tattoo, created by an award-winning Filipino artist, is competing. Let’s start the trip from the moment we landed. Arrival at Changi Airport was super efficient, and in no time we were past immigration and ready to leave. Since we were already at Jewel, we went to see the Rain Vortex show which opens daily from 10 a.m. and is right in the heart of the building. We took a moment to soak it in before heading out, a fitting way to start our Singapore trip. It’s the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, dropping about 40 metres down from the roof. Even during the day it’s quite a sight. Passed by a lot of shops and this cute one caught my eye. We’re here in Singapore, for a 4-day trip. Next stop, the hotel. 😊 From the airport, we took a Grab ride to our hotel, Pan Pacific Singapore. We chose this hotel because it’s connected to Suntec City, where the tattoo convention will be held. he architecture is impressive — open, modern, and designed in a way that instantly gives you that upscale city feel. They’ve got everything here — specialty restaurants, a pool, spa, fitness center, bars, cafes, and many other facilities. Every corner feels elegantly designed, from the spiral staircases to the sculptures and art pieces on the walls. Almost checked in, just waiting for the room keys. Even the elevator ride comes with a view. Welcome to our Singapore home. Oh, our luggages are here already. The room is spacious, about 38 square meters and it feels instantly relaxing the moment you walk in. There’s a big king bed in the center, with outlets and water bottles on both sides, and a large TV right across. There’s a small counter below the TV where the coffee and tea nook is set up, a Nespresso machine, tea bags, sugar, and creamer. There’s also a nice sitting area and a proper work desk, perfect if you need to catch up on a few things while on the trip. Near the closet, there’s a hidden fridge built into what looks like another cabinet door. Inside are chocolates, soda, beer, and a few small bottles of alcohol. Beside it, another closet opens up to a wine setup complete with a bottle and glasses, which is a nice touch. The bathroom is roomy too. it has a separate shower, toilet, and a bathtub, with Jo Loves amenities in Thai Mango & Lime. The scent gives that clean, fresh feel right away. The closet area itself has generous storage. big drawers, hangers, an iron, and a safe. Everything’s neat and well thought out. The blinds open up to a great view of the city, tall buildings all around and the Conrad Hotel right across. It’s the kind of view that reminds you you’re right in the heart of Singapore. Someone’s excited to unpack. 🤭 Some of Binoy’s travel essentials. Found these beautiful hardbound books in one of the drawers. They’re actually recipe books filled with local dishes and stories behind them. I had a feeling a mini dance was coming. 😆 Overall, the room feels calm, modern, and comfortable, the kind of space that makes you look forward to winding down after a long day out. We’re checking out the connecting mall before Binoy heads to the Ink Show. We’re taking the walkway that links the hotel straight to Suntec and Marina Square. Spotted a huge poster for the Singapore Ink Show. At this point, we’re just walking around, checking out the shops. You can tell who led the way to this store. 😄 We stopped by Kazo because the pastries looked too good to ignore. Everything on display looked so delicate and golden. We ordered a cream puff, doughnut, and a couple of cute mini cakes. ☺️ The crispy creampuff is really good, but the donut felt a bit dense and dry. This one is soft, creamy, and light, the kind that feels indulgent but not heavy. Every bite just melts smoothly without being overly sweet. I’m glad we ordered it, easily my favorite from everything we tried. It’s not jiggly. 😄 This cake is rich and chocolatey, with moist chocolate layers infused with silky ganache, and a playful vanilla mousse bunny perched on top. The mousse adds a light, creamy contrast to the deep and rich chocolate flavors. We’re back at the hotel and heading up to the room. Always love an elevator with a view. After Binoy brings me to the room, he’s off to the Ink Show. Time to freshen up and rest. Woke up in time for dinner, but not feeling 100% today. Since Binoy is still at the Ink Show, I just decided to order in-room dining. Dinner has arrived — classic Hainanese Chicken Rice. Ordered the aromatic poached thigh meat. It comes with chicken broth, fragrant rice and the three dips. Tender chicken, perfectly cooked. Simple, comforting, and hits the spot after a long day. Meanwhile at Suntec, the convention was packed. The Singapore Ink Show brings together artists and tattoo enthusiasts from all over the world. Aldrin Ace Jimenez of Black Tattoo Studio designed and created the arm sleeve and the back piece we entered into the competition. It’s something we’ve both put a lot of time and effort into, and were really proud to finally showcase it here. You’ll also catch artists doing live tattoos here, which they’re entering in another category of the competition. Grabbing a beer while waiting for my competition category. Here’s the full back piece in black and gray realism. This is Binoy’s concept, brought to life by Ace. You can see Perseus riding Pegasus while holding the head of Medusa. The detail on every element is incredible. They started last June and wrapped it up after 11 sessions. We love how the composition, texture, and contrast came together. Ace’s skill and artistry made this tattoo a true masterpiece.
We thought we were brave enough.🤐
