Poland’s participation in the event, which concluded earlier this month, is expected to boost Japanese tourist numbers, bringing direct benefits to the Polish economy.

“We estimate that each Japanese tourist spends around EUR 3,000 while visiting Poland,” said Magdalena Skarżyńska, deputy head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

“I also believe that the increased number of Japanese tourists in Warsaw during the Chopin Piano Competition was in part due to the Expo,” she added.

Highlighting the economic significance of the event, officials also announced new opportunities in the reconstruction of Ukraine, confirming that seven major projects would be launched by Japanese companies in Poland to support Kyiv’s rebuilding efforts.
