The Obihiro Illumination Project, now in its 24th year, brings color and splendor to the city during the long, harsh winter, and lights up the area as an event to warmly welcome visitors. The symbolic tree at the Obihiro Station North Traffic Plaza, the “Haru Nire Tree (Tree of Peace),” and seven street trees will be beautifully decorated with approximately 43,000 LED bulbs.

The Obihiro Illumination Project is carried out with sponsorship money from companies and donations from the public.
