宮城県宮城郡松島町にあった、マリンピア松島水族館です。日本三景松島の観光名所の一つとされていた水族館ですが、開館は日本で2番目に長い歴史を持つ1927年で、マリンピア松島水族館が閉館する直前には同一場所にある水族館としては日本最古となる歴史の長い水族館でした。2015年には300種類、約4000匹の魚類や海洋生物を展示していましたが、老朽化や交通アクセスの悪化などもあり、2015年5月10日に閉館となりました。
現在は、仙台港に新たに完成した仙台うみの杜水族館が、水族館としての機能を引き継いでいます。
It is the Marine Pia Matsushima Aquarium in Matsushima Town, Miyagi Prefecture Tohoku Japan.
This is an aquarium that was regarded as one of the Tourist Attractions of Japan’s Three most Beautiful Scenic view of the Matsushima, but this was opened in 1927 with the second longest history in Japan.
Just before closing this place, it was a long aquarium of history that is the oldest in Japan as an aquarium in the same place.
Currently, a newly completed Sendai Umi no mori Aquarium in Sendai Port takes over the function as an aquarium.
