japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ | a day trip to hokkaido’s countryside: biei & nakafurano πŸͺ»

It’s our third day here in Hokkaido and we’re kicking things off a bit earlier than usual because we’re heading out on a day tour and Naka Farano. Usually I’m a DIY kind of girly, but for this trip, I decided to book a tour instead because these places are a little far from Saporo. Our first destination is Shizikai Noa. This stunning flower park is one of the highlights of PA and is famous for its breathtaking flower fields that stretch as far as you can see. Like a rainbow painted across the hills. Each season brings a new wave of colors from lavender in summer to soft pastels in spring. What’s that? This is called the blue pond. Known for its milky turquoise color. According to our guide, this pond was created by accident after a dam was built to protect BA from volcanic eruptions of Mount Tokachi. Over time, aluminum from the nearby river mixed with the water, giving it this magical blue glow. While the dead birch trees standing quietly in the middle give its calm, still and mysterious aura. Blue Pond is also famous for its blue ice cream. You might think it’s bubble gum, but it’s actually like a soda pop flavor. Super refreshing and perfect match for this view. Just a few minutes from BA’s blue pond is Shirahiki waterfall, the white bearded falls of Hokkaido. The water here flows straight out of the cliffs, rich with minerals that give the blue pond its magical color. This is where the dreamy blue action begins. From Shiraiga’s white falls to BA’s blue waters, nature’s color palette at its best. Nice ride. Just beside the melon house is farm Toita, the most colorful stop of this tour. Also famous for its rainbow fields, this farm is packed with rows of lavender, poppies, and all kinds of blues. Everywhere you turn is a picture perfect view with the Mount Tokachi in the background. If you come in summer, the lavender scent literally fills the air. Have you ever thought of trying lavender ice cream? Sweet, creamy, and a little floral. Just like summer in a cone or cup, whichever you prefer. Between the colors, scent, and views, Farm Toita is pure Hokkaido magic. What you do? Costco from work. Then there salad sauce. You hear m
