Our First Impressions of Guiyang, China!

Okay, now we’ve made it to the local
park. Let’s enjoy with monkeys. Oh, he’s going to do my face.
Wow, my face right there. When there’s big squares like this
and people do karaoke like this, this temple area is pretty cool. So guys, one thing I found quite
interesting is to actually enter this temple, you need to pay. Wa! So talented YouTube or good morning guys from the beautiful
country of China. Today we are in the city of Guiyang and we are going to be spending the
next few weeks here in this province. So make sure you’re following along for the journey.
But today we have a lot of stuff planned. So let’s go out. Let’s explore and let’s explore this
beautiful city of Guayang. Let’s go. Sounds good. So we’re actually staying in this beautiful
five-star hotel here called Renaissance. Only $80 a night. Can you believe it? But the
really funny thing was they have this R here. Big initial made out of beer. Yeah. And
what’s the R stand for? R stands for really handsome Jack. Really handsome Jack. Or maybe
it stands for reaance. But as you can see here, it’s actually made out of Pepsi
cans. That’s Yeah, it’s Pepsi cans. Okay. So, right now we thought we’d check out
some of We Guy Yang’s coffee thing, right? So, apparently they have quite the coffee influence
here. I’m talking about mixing in with fruit, red wine, and even tobacco, so I’ve heard. So,
we found a little coffee shop. We’re going to go there now and see what it’s all about. I don’t
know if they’ll have the mixing in with it, but uh this whole city has 3,000 different coffee shops
just for 6 million people. Yep. And cute little things like this. Yeah. Right. So cool. Yeah.
Can you recommend something to us? Do you want to drink special coffee or traditional coffee? I
recommend our uh black cat coffee. Yeah. Uh this is uh dark roast and it’s a taste. Okay. So before
we did YouTube, I actually worked in an office job. And uh actually before that, I was working in
a coffee shop. And uh coming here actually reminds me of those days working in the uh in the coffee
shop. I’ve never tried your coffee before. Yeah, you have. Just like you’ve never tried
my burger. And uh before YouTube, Sophia actually used to work in a restaurant. Uh she was
partnered in a restaurant and she’s really good at making burgers. So she has to try my coffee
one time and I got to try her burger one time. For now, we’re trying the traditional Chinese
coffee and also like a American fusion with fruit and lemon and all different sorts.
So, yeah, let’s see. Uh let’s see that. So, guys, actually behind me here is their
massive coffee roaster. Now, this thing is super super cool. I’m not sure if they actually
use this. Uh maybe they used it at night time, but it does look very clean. Although I do see
some specks of coffee in there. So yeah, these uh these things are super cool. And for
a coffee shop to have one of their own is uh is is really amazing to be honest. I certainly
never had one of these when I was working in a coffee shop. It’s like really smooth actually
and the milk is really good quality too. It’s good. It melts in your mouth. It’s kind of like
dark chocolate. Yeah. This is your special coffee called Kiuto Geisha. Okay. Uh we have some lemon
juice. Yes. And some sugar cane in this coffee. Wow. This is a black tea. Okay. And we put the
black tea here. Uh in this bottle. Okay. Sure. Oh my gosh. Wo. You can smell it. Oh, okay. Wo.
Very. Oh wow. That smells good. Wow. It’s like a potion. Here it has a very special aroma
and you can put this aroma in this coffee and drink with this aroma. But don’t put the
liquid. This is the name, right? Yes. Look at that. Who would have thought that you could
do this? Let’s try this. Wow. Look at that. Wow. It’s good. Wow. I think you want more. Yeah.
Guys, let me tell you, she doesn’t normally drink coffee. So, uh, that’s that’s pretty funny.
It’s like juice. It’s like juice. Let me try. Oh, wow. Lemon and something. It
smells so good. Honestly, guys, it is roasting out here. I’ve definitely had
enough of this summer heat. It’s pretty hot. But this little gadget here
is my secret weapon. Ah, so good. This here is the Jizu Life Ultra
2, the highowered hurricane fan. This thing is ridiculously powerful and it’s like a
mini air conditioner that can fit inside your pocket. And here’s the crazy part. It’s
also a power bank. So, while I’m cooling off, I can also charge my phone at the exact same
time. Not only that, but it also has a light. So, I can use this at night for when I’m trying to
look for something or even if I’m camping in the bush, I can use this to find my way. And it’s
got a massive 9,000 milliamp hour battery. So, this thing can last for a long time. Whether we’re
in the airport, walking, trekking, or exploring, this thing is with me no matter where we are.
Plus, it’s also splash resistant and tough enough to handle our travels. So, that’s the
Ultra 2. And trust me, once you start using it, you can’t go without it. So, use our code here
for an extra 5% off on your next purchase of the Ultra 2. So, that coffee was absolutely
amazing. We have a lot of stuff planned. We did a lot of research for this video. So
yeah, let’s go to the next cool thing now. Okay, so now we’re in the local downtown area,
and this area is really cool. There’s a lot of local vendors out selling walnuts and all
different things. So, we’re actually going to go to a park right now, which I read online
is quite uh quite famous in the area. So, we’ll go there. We’ll sort of see what’s there and
see what local life we can sort of see. There’s lots of monkeys and there’s lots of monkeys,
too. So, we got to be careful, apparently. This is the local sticky rice, guys. And this vendor
comes in and sells all of this every single day. So, as you can see, guys, we are now really
in a really local place and uh there’s lots of different street food vendors, different
workers, construction going on. This is the real downtown of this city and it’s really beautiful.
We’ve got people selling glasses here, hats, all different types of stores. And yeah, this is
just on the way to the park. That’s pretty cool, right? Yeah. Oh, Lubu. China and the world’s
most famous gole at the moment, guys. Lubu. I don’t understand it. Okay, now we’ve made it to
the local park. There’s this big gate, so we have to enter there and let’s enjoy with monkeys. Yeah,
we got to watch out for the monkeys. They have a cable cut all the way up there. So, we actually
might go up to that later. That looks pretty cool, right? Are you scared? I’m not scared. I
think it should be good. Let’s uh Yeah, I’m pretty used to it. So guys, it’s pretty funny.
I actually just translated this sign and it says, “Do not feed the monkey.” We’re literally there.
Literally over there selling peanuts. That was selling peanuts to feed the monkeys. So
sometimes this happens in China. It’s pretty funny. Usually happens in Asia where
it says one thing and people do the opposite. We might actually see some people feeding the
monkeys. Let’s see. But we won’t be feeding them. Wow, guys. This old man right here
is making such a beautiful painting. No Chinese. Wow. Very nice. Oh, this way. Okay.
Okay. Yeah, please. Oh, this side. Oh, he’s going to do my face. This is so cool. So, right now
he’s painting my face with the water. Wow. Wow. Wow. Thank you. Sh. Wow. My face right there.
What a talented man, right? Yeah. That is amazing. Wow. Guys, there you go. That is the type of
talent. The real talent. The real talent here in this province. At first, I thought he was
doing it for money. Yeah. But then he’s just doing it for fun. There’s no QR. No QR hanging or
anything. So, it’s just his hobby. So, I say he’s retired and that’s what he’s now doing, which
that’s just so cool. Lighting up people’s day. So, we’re just in the middle of the park right
now. And what do you think? So beautiful, right? So peaceful. Yeah. Really, really so crowded.
You can’t really hear the noise. And the nature is just amazing. So guys, one popular thing here
in China is when there’s big squares like this, uh people Hello. So, uh people do karaoke
like this. And uh it looks like Yeah, this guy’s doing a karaoke. I thought maybe he
might be live streaming, but uh all karaoke here. So guys, in the west we might think of parks
as places to go for a frisbee, to walk around, to have a picnic, but in China, parks are
multiunctional. So we have more people singing here. We have uh I don’t know what’s
going on over there. We have a temple here as well. Hello. Hello. And very friendly people.
Oh, and there’s monkeys as well. Uh yeah. Hello. really friendly people. Um, and you can
see here that they have a uh a temple and everyone’s written their their prayers on this uh
on this prayer sheet. As they blow in the wind, they believe that their prayers will will come
true. So guys, here we can see there’s a monkey and they’ve been eating the peanuts, which they’re
not meant to eat, but you can see here he is quite a big monkey actually uh just eating the peanuts.
So, we’ve had singing, we’ve had prayer flags, we’ve had monkeys, we’ve had uh shuttlecock
tennis, and now we have dancing. What a fun place to be at for older people in China. For
retired people, it’s quite common for them to come to parks and do these type of activities,
these type of dancing. So, they’re learning these different type of traditional dance. And
uh really, really beautiful. I think you could do that. No. No. They’re too too good. Yeah, this is
really good. It’s good for the older population to get out to move. And I think the West could learn
a lot from this. Not just China, but many other countries. You see the older people, they get out,
they sit together, they’re outdoors. Whereas, uh, in the West, we just put everyone in old old age
homes. Uh, which is, you know, it’s quite sad. And, uh, you can see this couple here. They’re
not as older, but, uh, playing with shuttlecock. And you know this is just like a little shutter
[ __ ] course. So this uh this temple area is pretty cool. People have uh bought these little
bells and when they move in the wind they say that their prayers are being answered. What I
find funny is they’ve got like cafes and stuff in between the uh the whole temple scene which
anywhere else in the world wouldn’t really be the case. I’m surprised that the monkey doesn’t come
here. Yeah. Right. Cuz there’s snacks open snacks everywhere. Open snacks. One thing I saw before,
people had slingshots. So, they shoot rocks at the monkeys uh if they behave too naughty. So,
this lady here behind me was actually one of the uh role models and one of the people that shaped
the Lee people. I think I’m saying that right. uh together because before that there was a lot
of discrimination against other ethnicities and uh and a lot of other people uh in different type
of ethnicities were holding a lot of land whereas she made it uh equal for everyone so yeah super
interesting and we just saw a lady praying to her here right uh which is like quite interesting
maybe it’s just a form of respect she wasn’t gone she no so yeah form of respect paying her respect
okay so we’re still climbing and climbing up we go We’re uh almost there. Okay, so we got our water
and I choked. Yeah, Sophie was so thirsty she drank some and it went in the windpipe. Right.
And it’s still tingling here. It’s okay. So, we’re currently in a temple and uh we just learned
that this is a Buddhism temple, not Talis or Confucism. And you can see actually the uh the fat
laughing Buddha uh just here. Students come here for prayers for their exams and their results.
Yeah. So, we always walk right side around. So, clockwise, not anticlockwise, cuz apparently
that’s bad luck. And you can really smell the incense. I wish I could push it through
the camera to you guys. It’s very strong. So guys, one thing I found quite interesting is
to actually enter this temple, you need to pay. One sort of thing I personally believe in is if
you’re entering a religion, paying to go into some type of temple. I don’t know about you guys,
but I don’t think that that’s quite fair. I think obviously a donation is important, but to force
people to pay to come and pray, I I I don’t know about that. Let me know what you guys think in the
comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that. Obviously, there’s different religions around the
world that encourage you to donate, but having a forced payment to enter, I don’t know. It seems
a bit seems a bit hard. So, one thing here, guys, that I feel really safe about when we’re walking
is I’ve got a whole net of protection in case any rocks fall down. So, cuz there’s a whole pathway
here. So, if any rocks fall down and hit you, it’s virtually impossible because uh they’ve
got this protection net. But one thing that isn’t protecting is uh the monkeys. So, you
have to be careful when you come here because uh yeah, the monkey might do that to you. Monkey
business. Monkey business. So, guys, this is my most favorite thing in China and Sophia’s favorite
thing. What is it? What is it? Bin chilling. Bin chilling. So, bin chilling is ice cream. And
uh the easiest way to remember well for me to remember the the word bin chilling is like a bin
filled with ice cream and chilling. But I don’t know maybe do you think of it like that? No, I
I think of it like I’ve been chilling. Yeah. So, if you didn’t know, ice cream in China is called
binchilling. So, we’re back down at the park now. And uh check this out. This guy’s balancing a
basketball and juggling at the same time. Whoa. So talented. Hey, beautiful. Beautiful. I love you. Well, there you go, guys. Always
having fun in China. So cool. Okay, so we just got a sausage snack. M. So good. One thing I love
about China is these sausages. If you’re hungry, you can just snack on them. So yummy, so
easy to eat. So, here we are, guys. This uh artist is doing it again for this guy. Looks so
awesome. So, now we’ve just stumbled across a loud but little local market selling grapes. Uncle’s
got his t-shirt up because it’s hot. And they’ve got beans here as well and corn. And this is all
local farmers that have come in from their farm to sell in the city. So cute. Baby garlic. Wow.
Nihal. And they’ve got local eggs here as well. Wow. And they have the WeChat as
well, so you can buy that. Super cool, right? China is all about business. All about
that exchange of uh about speakers also. Yeah, you can tell it’s it’s very very loud here. A big
loafer or something. Wow. You scrub your body with that? Oh, like in the shower. Yeah. Oh, that’s
cool. Look how big these peaches are. Very big. Okay, so we’ve now came down to this little
river lake area with a beautiful bridge just here and everyone’s taking photos. It’s
absolutely stunning. What do you think? What a beautiful view. It’s beautiful, right? Yeah.
So, um we’re going to walk down here. Apparently, there’s some type of pavilion that we can see
uh inside and uh yeah, we can check that out. I love the uh shape of that bridge. It’s so
beautiful, right? It feels very European. Oh, guys, so we’re now on the bridge. As you can
see, it’s quite the local tourist attraction. Really nice. Lots of people come out here. Okay,
guys. And as the sun begins to set behind us, thank you so much for joining us on our
video today. Uh we’ve had a lot of fun, and I hope that you guys have, too. Please
make sure you like and subscribe for our next video uh here in this province. And
yeah, as always guys, keep it real. Cheers.

  1. Wow I've never seen such a big city that is surrounded by lush tropical forest. The natural beauty mixed with the city skyline looks very magical

  2. Sorry, really funny the way you ozzys say 'Renaissance" Always enjoy the videos. Looking forward to more China. That is a very nice Probat coffee roaster. I use to be a coffee roaster. I was once one of the biggest coffee roasters in HK. I won best coffee in China at the international coffee show in Shanghai. I think 2001.

  3. Wow, Guiyang will truly amaze you! 🌿 The weather here is pleasantly cool all year round — not too hot in summer and not too cold in winter — it’s literally a paradise for escaping the heat! ☁ The city’s name “Guiyang” actually comes from its famously cloudy weather — locals say there are “no three sunny days in a row,” since it’s often overcast. 😄

And the food? Absolutely incredible! You’ve got to try changwang noodles, siwawa (a kind of veggie wrap), and tofu rice noodles — every dish is unforgettable! 😋 The natural scenery is breathtaking too — places like Qianling Mountain, Qingyan Ancient Town, and Huaxi Wetland are perfect for exploring and taking amazing photos. 📸

What’s even more surprising is that Guiyang is also known as China’s “Big Data City.” 💻✨ The tech vibe is strong, and the city is becoming more modern every year. It’s truly a place where nature and technology blend perfectly together! 🌏

  5. I like guizhou province very much but I don't like it's capital city guiyang. I think Guiyang built too many apartment which makes the whole city looks boring. But I understand, because if one city is good for living, everybody want to buy an apartment here.

  6. руские придут и отпетушарят сначала бабу а потом и кренделя его

  7. really! Guiyang has the best and most famous coffee shops in China, and there are coffee shops everywhere! You can walk slowly and explore well.
