Full Tour at New Chitose Airport in Sapporo | A Terminal with Cinemas and Observation Deck! | Japan
This is Japan’s airport that has it all! The New Chitose Airport features an observation deck, cinemas, a 4-level mall, and more!
New Chitose Airport (CTS) is the main air gateway to Sapporo and the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, situated about 50 km southeast of the city. Opened in 1988, it serves both domestic and international flights and is notably connected by frequent rail services direct to Sapporo Station, making it a convenient access point to the region’s ski resorts and outdoor attractions.
Beyond typical airport functions, it features unique amenities including a hot-spring bathhouse, the first airport-based movie theatre in Japan, and an observation deck with views of Hokkaido’s landscape and aircraft movements, giving it a more leisurely and region-friendly feel than many major hubs.
