Michinoku Coastal Trail (みちのく潮風トレイル): 05 Natori to Shiogama
Here’s the latest stage of our trek on the Michinoku Coastal Trail (みちのく潮風トレイル). We’ll be doing about 500 kilometres, all on foot and carrying everything we need in backpacks, from Soma (the southern trailhead) and heading north to Ofunato, which near the midpoint of the 1,000 kilometre MCT trail.
Today’s walk takes us from NATORI to SHIOGAMA, a lengthy 30+ kilometer walk that surprises us with numerous tsunami related sites, cute pastel cars and a surf and turf lunch….literally!

Another long day! As the sun set and the lanterns were illuminated, Shiogama Shrine was especially beautiful. Arigato.
I'm loving the videos while not in the least tempted to follow in your footsteps. 30 plus kilometers! Two days running! But I'm considering one with shorter days more within my capability. Thanks for the inspiration.
Who is the mysterious cameraperson(s) who sometimes films both of you walking?
Awesome having the temple to yourself David. I’d like to spend hours meditating there.
But another 30k’is walk… ugh 😩
