Who is Japan’s new female prime minister?

Next week, Donald Trump will travel to Japan and he’ll be shaking hands with a newly announced leader there, and the first female to hold office, Sanae Takaichi.

She maybe Japan’s first female prime minister, but she’s no feminist. 

The social conservative’s hero is the UK’s Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher, and despite promising “Nordic” levels of female representation in parliament, so far she’s only named two other women for cabinet.
