The Azerbaijan pavilion at the “Expo 2025” world exhibition held in Osaka, Japan, has won the German Design Award in the category of “Excellent Architecture / Fair and Exhibition,” APA reports.
This award, established in 2012 and internationally renowned, is presented to projects that drive innovation and open new perspectives through design.
Representatives of the German Design Award who visited the Azerbaijan pavilion highly appreciated the concept of our national pavilion, noted that it attracted the interest of many visitors, and evaluated it as a fantastic project.
The “Expo 2025” world exhibition, which operated from April 13 to October 13, had more than 25 million visitors in total. The Azerbaijan pavilion, created under the organization of the Heydar Aliyev Center, once again ranked among the most distinguished and visited pavilions. Our national pavilion welcomed over 2 million visitors during “Expo 2025.” The pavilion’s concept was inspired by the poem “Seven Beauties” by the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi. It showcased Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, commitment to technological and sustainable development, as well as openness to dialogue.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan’s national pavilions, which have successfully participated in Expo exhibitions since 2000, have been awarded various awards so far:
– The national pavilion at the “Milan Expo 2015” world exhibition was awarded in the “Design and Materials” category within the framework of Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Protection of Marine Resources’ program “Towards a Sustainable Expo.”
– The Azerbaijan pavilion at the “Antalya Expo 2016” international botanical exhibition won first place in the exterior and interior garden category.
– At “Astana Expo 2017,” the Azerbaijan pavilion received a silver award in the “Eastern Design” category for the extensive presentation of the theme.
– The Azerbaijan national pavilion was awarded the “Special Prize” (second place) for its exterior-interior concept and design at the “Beijing Expo 2019” exhibition.
