Data shows that in the second quarter of this year, Tokyo claimed the top spot for global hotel reservations for the first time, while Osaka entered the global top ten for the first time, firmly establishing Japan’s leading position in the international tourism market. The report emphasizes that beyond major gateway cities such as Tokyo, there is a significant surge in demand for deeper travel experiences. Searches for Okinawa surged by 71%, while interest in previously overlooked non-mainstream regions also saw notable increases, including Hiroshima rising by 55% and Tochigi by 50%.
