Kobe is a city famous for food, history and ocean views If you only have one day How can you make the most of it? I will start with Kobe’s must eat hamburger steak Staying at a super convenient hotel Right on top of the station Heading to Nankinmachi to feel the lively atmosphere Going up to Ijinkan to see unique western style buildings Then stopping at the beautiful bay and sea views Ending the day with real Kobe beef teppanyaki Let’s see how this one day Kobe trip unfolds Good morning everyone Actually it is not early anymore I found a place about 5 minutes from Sannomiya Station It is a hamburger steak shop called Kobe Akafuji Since I am in Kobe I must try Kobe beef This shop is very famous and popular with locals Now I plan to walk there for brunch Kobe beef hamburger steak Each person has a private teppanyaki grill You can watch the chef grill in front of you The smell is so good and makes me hungry They first grill my hamburger steak and thick beef tongue Just sear the outside lightly Then let me grill while eating This way the meat does not get cold Kobe beef has high fat content Even if I grill it too much it stays soft and juicy It will still be tender and delicious On the table there are 5 condiments For example minced beef for mixing with rice My favorite was a slightly spicy sauce Just mildly spicy and goes well with beef tongue and steak Another is chopped onion with hamburger steak It makes the taste more refreshing The flavor will not feel too heavy Just finished eating at Kobe Akafuji The seating is special with private grills for everyone Overall taste was excellent And the price is not expensive Two Kobe beef dishes cost just over 3000 yen I left very full and satisfied Since we are spending a day in Kobe Why not first check out this super convenient hotel? Many people visiting Kobe stay near Sannomiya Station This station not only has many shopping facilities nearby There are also many restaurants around And it is a major transport hub in Kobe Many attractions require transfers from here This time I stayed at Remm Plus Hotel Located inside the Hankyu Building at Sannomiya Station Just downstairs is the station itself Very convenient for getting around The hotel lobby is on the 17th floor I booked a single room The bed is actually king size So the bed is larger than average Each room comes with a massage chair I paid 11,800 yen for my stay Normal checkout time is 12 noon Unlike many Japanese business hotels which are 10 or 11 Staying here gives more flexibility with time After seeing this convenient hotel Where can we go now to feel Kobe’s lively atmosphere? In front is Daimaru Department Store Across is Kobe’s shopping street Next to here is Kobe Chinatown Very lively Nankinmachi Worth stopping by to have a look So interesting, there’s even Spider Man above the shop This is more of a tourist area Many street foods can be eaten while walking Beijing roast duck Japanese style twist, even sesame balls are on skewers Compared to North America Chinatowns This feels cleaner Not sure why So many shops put Spider Man above What does Spider Man have to do with this? After experiencing Kobe’s Chinese style What other special cultural sides are there? Now we are at Kitano Ijinkan Street This was the area when Kobe first opened to the world Many foreign consulates lived here So there are buildings from Europe and North America It is a very famous photo spot in Kobe This house was the former US consul’s residence Its design is like houses on the US East Coast If you lived in the East Coast you would know Buying a house with 100 or 200 years of history is normal Because many of these old houses are still lived in today The Weathercock House was a German merchant’s home Today it is under construction so it is closed Too bad we cannot go inside Next to the Weathercock House is Kitano Tenmangu Shrine If you have time you can walk up to visit From the shrine you can see Kobe Port from above The view is very beautiful After seeing the special Western-style buildings And feeling the calm atmosphere at the shrine Next stop we go to Kobe’s most iconic spot Can you guess where it is? This is the famous Kobe Harbor Meriken Park The weather is really nice today The sun is not too strong This park feels very relaxing Not many people, great for a family walk Also nice for jogging or exercise The sea is calm and peaceful Looking this way is Osaka Bay There’s a Starbucks with a perfect spot Right in front of Kobe Harbor The lighthouse behind is a photo spot Especially beautiful at night After walking through so many places today Are you starting to feel hungry? This morning before going to Akafuji I saw a teppanyaki near the hotel There were people lining up early But Akafuji had no line Since it’s close to the hotel I planned to try it for dinner The restaurant is Steak Land Kobe Wow a really long teppanyaki table The starter was smoked salmon Very different from lunch The chef cooked everything for me I ordered steak and seafood set The ingredients were quite good I tried their house soy sauce The decor felt very retro Just finished eating at Steak Land Kobe The taste was okay overall But the price was not cheap The steak and seafood set cost 10000 yen Japanese teppanyaki is efficient dining The ingredients were good quality Overall the taste was decent Our one day trip in Kobe is coming to an end We tried delicious hamburg steak and premium Kobe beef And visited the city’s unique attractions Did you feel the charm of Kobe?
