HELENA, Mont. (KUMV) – Montana Governor Greg Gianforte says he will lead a trade mission to South Korea and Japan this coming week.

Gianforte says representatives from many industries will attend, including agricultural and photonics, the science of light manipulation.

Korea and Japan are among Montana’s top international trading partners. Korea purchased more than $335 million in coal, beef, and machinery; while Japan purchased more than $265 million in wheat and coal.

“Montana has shared a strong bond with Japan and South Korea forged through educational exchanges, the trade of our high-quality commodities, and our shared respect for history and cultural exchange,” said Gianforte.

The trip will last Sunday through Saturday, October 25.
