TOKYO: El-Mabrouk Aounallah, the Chief of Staff to Tunisia’s Minister of Health, paid a courtesy call on Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs MATSUMOTO Hisashi on Friday as the two countries look to strengthen cooperation in the health and medical fields.
According to the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo, Matsumoto stated that Japan places importance on its partnership with Tunisia, particularly as it serves as a gateway to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
The two sides agreed to work together in the public and private sectors to strengthen cooperation in the health and medical fields in Africa, including cooperation within the TICAD framework.
Matsumoto said Tunisia plays an important role in the stability and development of the region, and that he hopes to further develop bilateral relations in the run-up to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
