Hokkaido Nippon-Ham-Shu Yamagata Fighters’ Hideyuki Yamagata hit a solo Home Run.
He started as the seventh batter and short stop. With a two-run lead in the top of the seventh inning, with count at 0-1, he hit a high breaking ball thrown by the opposing starting pitcher, Naoyuki Uwasawa, and the ball landed in the left-field stands. It was his first home run since hitting two consecutive Home Run off pitcher Moinelo in a game against Fukuoka Softbank on September 9th, and he ran around the diamond with a smile on his face.
Yamagata played in 84 games during the regular season, batting .232 with Home Run. This rookie, drafted fifth overall, is known for defense and is also producing results as a hitter.
