Hawaii Has A Japanese Kicker, Kansei Matsuzawa, Nicknamed “The Tokyo Toe” And He’s A Perfect 19 For 19 On FGs This Season And He Learned How To Kick On YouTube

I’ve found a new favorite athlete and his name is the Tokyo Toe. There’s been a lot of cool athletes nicknames along the way, some of my personal favorites are Big Dumper and the King when referencing my one and only LeBron. But Tokyo Toe might take the cake, and I feel ashamed for not knowing about him until this viral tweet.

Forget the nickname, forget the history, this fella is AUTOMATIC. 19 for 19 on field goals this season? The best kicker isn’t in Ann Arbor like Portnoy would say, he’s located firmly in Oahu. And not only is he automatic, he’s got a cool story about being a server at the Morton’s Steakhouse in Tokyo where he saw an NFL game on vacation in the US and went home and taught himself how to kick on YouTube:

The more I write about him, the more I’m confused to how we haven’t blogged about this guy yet. Do we not cover college football and why is no one talking about the TOKYO TOE?! And maybe the best part of it all, you won’t find a more humble guy:

I live on the East Coast so I can’t tell you that I stay up to watch many Hawaii games, but that is all changing very soon. Shoutout Tokyo Toe.
