What You SHOULD Eat in Osaka, Japan! (or else…) #Shorts
What you should eat in Osaka. All right, so you’re in Osaka for the first time. Big signs everywhere. You don’t know what to eat. You’re overwhelmed. I got you. First stop in Osaka has to be for okonomiyaki because well, it’s the birthplace of okonomiyaki. We went to Mizuno. It’s been on the Michelin list for years. Side note, I don’t know why we take the word of attire company as gospel when it comes to restaurants. But I can’t lie, their okonomiyaki were the best I ever had until of course I had the okonomiyaki in Hiroshima, but that’s a future video. Back at Mizuno, we got three okonomiyakis. Their number one is the yamimo yaki which is made with Japanese yams instead of wheat flour. We added pork sirloin and pork belly. It was so good. The gout in my toes started to flare up. Then we got the namesake dish, the misuno yaki. It has squid, scallops, octopus, pork, mints, and shrimp all in there. And if you go in the winter, they even add oysters. Then my favorite was the modaki. It had pork and soba noodles in there. It was so good. Now Osaka is also known for takoyaki or octopus balls. Once again to clarify, they’re balls made out of octopuses, not genitalia of octopuses. Pusses. All over Osaka, you can find takoyaki grilling on the streets. But we went to one that was also recommended by Michelin. Tires and takoyaki, baby. My favorite. If that wasn’t enough, we also got all you can eat wagyu yaki niku or Japanese barbecue. Then we ended the day with kushi katsu or fried skewers. Another Osaka staple.
