Landing in Osaka: A Peaceful Start at Sumiyoshi Taisha

After arriving in Osaka, I couldn’t wait to head out and explore the city. For my first afternoon, I visited Sumiyoshi Taisha, one of Japan’s oldest and most beautiful Shinto shrines — a peaceful escape with its iconic arched bridge, thatched roofs, and timeless atmosphere.

As evening set in, I wandered through the underground passages in search of dinner and ended the day with a fluffy soufflé omelette rice, a perfect comfort meal to mark the start of my Japan journey.

From serene shrine paths to cozy local dining, this day reminded me why Osaka has such a special charm — warm, welcoming, and full of character.
